My first platinum game was on the day Earth DLC was released. It was a PUG set to U/U/P and we ended up on Vancouver, a map that nobody had never played on before. We wiped on Wave 6.
Just got back from my first U/U/P match... What was your first Platinum match like?

My first U/U/P was firebase white/geth before the map change and it had two missile glitchers camping the back room. I didn't know WTF was going on.

1st ever.
Finally got the Claymore to X, decided that I really should learn how to use it.
Search for Bronze match.
Entered match in progress. FBW (Mk1) everyone was in the bottom control room of course.
Ran past two Primes Wut????
Nothing equipped not even gear. It's only Bronze after all.
Did ok until the Pizza on Wave 10, I was last one on my feet.

I seem to recall my first Plat being a complete fustercluck. We extracted but ended up dying a boatload and used every single consumable in the process.

Pretty painless. I was AIU w/Reegar. Ended up with 3 British guys in a clan that invited me to their party chat. Giant/Collectors. Full extraction, around 27 minutes I think.

My first Plat match we used the old FBW/G/G strategy with a Salarian Engineer and a bunch of DPS classes. It went well.

Did that for the first time lastnight with some friends. Pulled collectors on London ( I called it) then Collectors again on condor. Got spanked both times. It was awful.

Whats the FBW/G/G strategy? I don't think I was playing MP when people used to do it

I don't claim to be a "Pro".
My first Plat was with two RL Friends, the one insisted we're gonig for a Plat Mission.
I chose My Demo Engi, one a Krogan (forgot the Kit) and the other QMI, we ended up with a Vorcha in the Lobby, where we told the other Guy, that we'd go for our first Plat just4fun, so he shouldn't expect anything special.
He agreed.
Maaaan, never had that much of a Dogfight.
Until now I don't know if I've thrown more 'nades than ressing My Friends or the other Way around.
Was still awesome, cause we managed to pull it off. ^^
(Plat is still a Nightmare for Me. xD)

Was geth on Condor. My SE shined using his decoy (back when it worked) and I made some good friends that night.

Searching for a Silver match, puts me straight into a game on wave 1 except its Platinum not Silver lol I was a N7 Fury & using a Scorpion (lifesaver) which isn't my strongest class to play as but it did the job. I'm mostly happy because I didn't die every five seconds or even every wave. Managed to extract and somehow top the leaderboard (think it was all the biotic explosions lol). Haven't played many platinum matches since (mostly for Lodestar) but its nice to know its not the impossible difficuluty I once believed it to be.

I clicked “Quick Match” for a silver game (first time experimenting with my N7 Fury), wound up in a Platinum match. Hid in the box of shame, and spent most of the match face down. Volus and Geth did all the work. After the match was over, they kicked me. Good coin though. I’d like to try again (being more prepared though).

My first time I went in with some guys I met on Geth/Gold/White. (I think it was among one of my first gold matches as well, anyway...). They took me to Glacier, into that room that's now boxed up. They convinced me to bust out a geth infiltrator (lots of firsts that game, lol) and some sort of shotgun (I went with Geth Shotty since it was my best at the time). I'd been playing a while, but hadn't unlocked a whole lot and generally knew nothing.
For the entire duration of that first, second, third, tenth...match, my only thoughts were "holy crap, holy crap, holy crap!" and for a very long time I couldn't imagine facing such a horde in the usual way so I thought boxes were the way to go. And I hated it until my friends took me out on Giant and showed me the real way to take on platinum.

Firebase White with Geth used to be the easiest faction. They'd run up to the counter and just stand there until you grabbed them. Including pyros. There were no bombers then and decoy would keep anything distracted so what you didn't grab didn't care about you anyway.
Good times...

I enter a bronze lobby, host changes it to Platinum. "How bad can it be????" I press "ready", wave 1 wipe.
"Oh..... THAT hard.... :/"
My first not-retarded Plat game was on Giant, against Reapers. The team was 1 Ghost (me), 2 GIs, 1 Volus (engineer? can't remember). Lone Survivor extraction (one of the GIs).

Back when Platinum came out on xbox, my first game had a missile glitcher.
So did the next one, and the next one and so on.

cerberus on white. they were easiest faction before, no dragoons yet. reapers seems harder but freaking crazy as banshees keep coming out from the beginning.
when they introduced new faction and new units, bioware made some changes that made the game easier like making fire/tech/cryo easier to detonate.

First plat was Dagger against Reapers or Cerb, I was an Asari Valk. with a Piranha, with Uh Cold and some other guys, match went by in 15 minutes, barely any deaths or missles used, and all within 1000 points of each other, it was a beautiful match.

First was an attempt to farm FB White against geth, back when it was still common to farm the map.
We got to wave 10 and finished the objective, then died out. There wasn't an extraction bonus back then.
First successful was a game with friends, FB Condor against Cerberus. Full extraction and all the perks. Used very little equipment, any of us.

I actually extracted firs time..I could not believe it.
Back in the days some guys were farming white and the banshees were stuck on the counters trying to grab the team. They were very DPSish..I remember staying in the same place throughout the whole match. Lowest score of course and these guys seamed like gods then.

It was on Rio, I joined and realised everyone in the lobby was a Volus engineer, I took the hint and we camped it out in the crate and shield boosts until extraction. Fun game, but I am yet to do a serious Platinum game, mainly because all my equipment is still poop.
