It was on London vs reapers. Everyone was using the new N7 characters,

I did giant cerberus with the people I normally played with. I used a fury and didn't think we'd do it so I put no equipment on, I also purposefully got myself instant killed on wave 5 to troll my friends.

We still got extraction though.

My first Platinum match wasn't a PUG, it was with 2 friends (and 1 PUG) so it was pretty easy. I knew what to expect going in so I wasn't really caught off guard. I was just glad my console didn't freeze.

My first platinum game, the day it came out, was on London, which we had never played before. Me and a group of 3 others friends of mine all thought we were awesome and could tackle it easily and all died about 2 minutes into wave 1. It was Cerberus. Two were stabbed by phantoms before we knew what hit us. The others didn't last long.We laugh about it now.

mine was a solo giant/reapers

got to wave 10 and died shortly after the credits.

needless to say i thought i wouldn't last until the 1st objective wave let alone complete it on wave 10 and die

Yeah, Collectors being your first introduction to Platinum on the PS3 was about the roughest way to start! LOL

My very first Platinum match was 8 months ago with friends. Back before they patched FBW to be different and back when Banshees reliably got stuck on the counters table-dancing, so we were all doing the FBW/G/G routine back behind the counters screaming in horror at Banshees swiping at us from inches away.

Actually... oh, hey, look,  I posted about it . Although I am cringing at my 8-month-ago self thinking Cryo Ammo was the way to go on Plat. And that I still had a scope on my Mattock instead of extended barrel. And that my Stronghold Package was still level 2. And that I could only manage 75,000 points.... oh, to be young again! LOL

I was drunk, like really really drunk... but I was playing TGI so it was ok. I had played a few gold games with the same group when they decided hey, let's bump it up to platinum!
went really smoothly, I sometimes ran into corners but overall we killed things, delivered pizza, and extracted... I don't know how I did it but I placed first.. good times.

I was against it, especially with the people in the lobby. I ended up soloing most of it. Got extraction though

Me and three friends, playing for fun, reached wave seven. Dagger as it's a nice map to play, and geth to prevent early sync-kills. I was an N7 Fury, my most confident class.

My first gold was on dagger, too. I was a level 1 geth engineer, I got dropped in there by accident. Didn't realise it was gold for a couple of waves, messaged an apology to the host when the match was finished, something along the lines of "I'm so sorry, I thought it was Silver!" Response came back - "Don't worry, you did good " So that was very cool! Boosted my confidence a lot, gave me the resolve to start trying gold matches more frequently.

My first one was right when it was introduced to the game. Played with some friends. We had quite the set up. A Salarian Engineer (me), a FQE, an Asari Adept and a GI with a shotgun. We did it on Dagger against Reapers. For our first try, it wasn't that bad. Decoy was good back then, it kept everyone preoccupied in the long hallway.

We made it to wave 10 where we had disable/enable devices. I got picked up by a Banshee, and 2 other guys went down. There was only one guy left and one device left. Last person left had no more gels. We didn't make it. We were so close. Can't believe we made it that far with such an odd mix of characters.

I remember my first platinum match somebody piped over their mic a clip from Lost World:

"Oh, yeah. Oooh, ahhh, that's how it always starts. Then later there's running and screaming."

Ok, Bronze with my challenge kit and challenge weapon... extraction - no problem. Move to Silver. Wait... what? Ok, I survived. Only died once. GOLD? What??? Switch to Krogran, I ... ouch... bang... cough... I couldn't even do anything (didn't have time to equip consumables). PLATINUM. OH CRAP? Two people left by wave one, I stuck it out and died - spent more time face down but we wiped on wave 3. I'm like. NOT GONNA DO THAT AGAIN.

But I did a few weeks later. (same thing happened again).

Then lodestar happened but I prepared myself and 4 our 7 I extracted and did decently.

FBW/G/P... because my friends and I were all dolts at the time and didn't know better. Everyone was out of equipment by wave 4. We managed to extract like an hour later because we always had someone quit the game then rejoin with fresh consumables before the end of each wave. ><

Before that, wouldn't even dare to enter plat.

My first platinum match was on my level four turian sentinel. It was supposed to be a bronze or silver match, I don't remember which. The lobby leader switched it to platinum without my realizing it.

My first actual platinum match was on my turian ghost and it went fairly well after I got over my nervousness of it all.

My first platinum game was a boring geth farm on white because one of my friends invited me to it.

My second one was am U/U, ended up with Ghost/Reapers. Was alright, decided I wasn't really a fan of the boss spam and bullet sponge nature of the mode, didn't play it again until Lodestar.

My first proper platinum game (previous one was farming on FBW) was a 3-man game (1 guy lagged out early and nobody else joined) with Reapers on Dagger. Surprisingly smooth and full extraction with me running a classic Salarian Infiltrator with Claymore. I still remember the wave 10 objective being the escort mission. All 3 of us had our rockets out and were rocketing all the banshees and brutes converging on us, was so glad to see the objective circle. Its definitely the most intense experience on MP.

Felt like silver really wish there was a higher difficulty in this game

First plat game was a blur - we had a host who brought us up as we did well on silver, then on gold, so he brought us into a FBW Geth farming setup on platinum.

I remember huddling behind the counters in the basement with my Salarian engineer, desperately throwing up decoys and trying to generate enough damage with my suddenly puny looking Carnifex (this was before I unlocked the talon or hurricane). Somehow we had got extraction, but it was enough of a drag to keep me away from plat until Lodestar.

This experience lead me to juggy the first 3 rounds of Lodestar plat, which was better but still kind of a drag, before I came to my senses and used my go-to gold class, the huntress. Had more fun, and did MUCH better, and we extracted much faster as well, this last one against the collectors.
