That was my reaction at first, but there's something to be said for learning to play with minimal resources.

It forces you to adapt, and make the best of what you've got.

 

Some people enjoy the feeling of unlocking new stuff too.

 

It's also a good way of getting some perspective on what it's like to be a new player, a lot of vet players loose sight of what it's like to not have all the toys to play with

 

Between the BSN Forums and Reddit, I've noticed there are a lot of complaints about the RNG Gods taking forever to hand out decent weapons.  I was wondering why anyone would subject themselves to that feat ever again as it seems awfully frustrating and tedious for many people. It doesn't seem to be about "unlocking new stuff" so much as the complaints tend to be "STUPID RNG I DON'T WANT WEAPON X AGHHH THIS TAKES FOREVER"

 

As for your last line... yeah, I am fairly still new to the game (compared to the rest of you) except for like one other person who posted that s/he had around the same amount of hours as myself, so... yeeep, my memory of being a total newbie and sucking balls isn't too far off.  I have had matches with friends who, on occasion, seemed to have forgotten what it was like not knowing every last nuance of the game and when to go for cover and where the spawns are, etc.

 

Hell, I still suck majorly in Gold sometimes and the first time I really saw what it meant to have a decent all-Biotic or all-Tech team was about a month ago. It was on Firebase Rio against Collectors and we wrecked them. I hate that map and Collectors and it was a blast so when it took only 20 minutes my jaw dropped after the match. (My teammates were so efficient that even though I was playing at my best with the Justicar I still felt like I was just extra weight because we totally ruined them XD)

 

I mean, seriously Collectors and/or Geth on Gold as fun? Who knew!

 

Even the next match on Ghost against Geth was a cakewalk because we kept meshing so well. Biotic detonations everywhere. It was amazing and I wish I could have a repeat of that experience but so far, no luck. Maybe I need to team up with Platinum players or something.

If you are asking that in jest, it's because we wrecked them! Stupid Geth didn't hardly have a chance to stunlock my teammates.

 

(I think maybe once in the earlier waves I got downed by a Turret for all of three seconds, but my kickass teammates came stomping back and blew it up & frankly that is the fastest Turret recovery I've ever seen. Without Cloak, or freezing it or having to use missiles. BIOTIC EXPLOSIONS EVERYWHERE! Needless to say, I was impressed.)

I ran into Dragon Racer in a pug.  I know! The RNG gods were not kind in our first 2 matches. First, we get Hazard Dagger/Collectors. Great map for a sniper. >.> Then, we get Reactor/Geth. My nemesis.    I tried to clutch wave 10 Primes. But, I had thought they were next to each other, when one Prime walked all the way around the Reactor to stunlock me from the right side. And no medigels. Grr. **** geth.

 

The next match was pretty smooth on White/Cerberus until (I'm guessing) Dragon Racer's PS3 froze. (**** hazard maps and collectors)

LOL, I was just coming here to post about getting some matches with you!

 

The match before you joined was actually (finally) the first time I broke 200,000 points in a PUG. Had found a good room and then it came up Cerberus/Condor, which kicked the host and someone else out and left me and a human sentinel who... seemed pretty new, but was smart enough to stick together with me and teamwork with each other. We two-manned almost the whole match until a Paladin dropped in late, but all in all it went really smooth. Then again, GI Talon is LOL-mode anyway.

 

The Collectors match was okay. The Geth one had me ready to murder somebody. I was happy to just get the Wave 10 objective done and die, I was so frustrated. That last missile I shot point blank at the Prime next to me... that did absolutely no damage and then the Prime killed me... I just can't even. F**k Geth, seriously.

 

That last match fortunately wasn't a freeze. Once a day, without warning, my Internet will fart. Will just kick me offline for half a second, which is enough to end a match, obviously. Only ever happens once and all my playtime before and after is smooth. However, that fart seems to always come on Wave 8 or 9 of a Gold match and, well, it rang true again. A shame because that was a smooth game... we were something at like 5 waves survived with those PUGs, yeah? Damn shame. But that was gonna be my last match anyway (pups had to go out for a bathroom break, etc), so once the Internet farted, I called it a day.

Ran into razer057 for a good Hazard Dagger Geth game. Got my face pushed in because I was an offhost vanguard, but it was still fun. Would have stuck around for more, but had to eat dinner.

i think i bumped into sketfish earlier today. it was a jade/collectors/gold game but they left at some point during the match. never got a fourth player to replace him/her and i don't remember if the rest of us finished the game successfully. everything has been a blur today. oh well.

Is there a Se7n_ -something here, or something like that? Alt Best of the Best banner, but I think they were Russian maybe, so I dunno. Dropped into their ongoing London Reapers Gold solo for a good duo, their non pulsing Jug and my fire explosion BF3. I kept thinking someone else would drop in, and I ran out of gear half way through, but we made extraction. If you're here, thanks for the game. Sorry I had to keep running to the ammo boxes so often.

Just ran into Garrus1138 for the worst game ever. For some strange reason, UK hosts have suddenly become the most unbearable for me (looking at you ALTBOULI). I would've left ideally, but the other two players were a very sorry bunch, and I would've felt bad leaving him alone with them. Sub net? Nope. Incinerate? Nope. The frame rate issues I have with Goddess didn't help either.

 

I ended up getting downed and stomped because my furious rage gels wouldn't register, leaving Garrus to clutch most of one of the late waves. Sorry dude and good job.

 

Enough ranting for now. Need to sleep off this headache.

Ran into that dumbarse Gladiatorium in a GIP he was hosting. Too bad my "quit GIP" reflex had the best of me and I left. After I thought about it, I might have liked to stay and wait for a pizza to troll him. But hey, ain't nobody go' time fo' dat ****.

 

Also ran into Gladiatorium earlier. Goddess/Reapers I think, which ended with a full extraction.

Had a pretty smooth Ghost/geth/gold game with William YZF R1 just now. Also just realised that Tony Dawg also posts here, had a more... scrubby game with him earlier today (I was the scrub, not him).
