He's pretty good, but if he goes down he will start raging and typically blaming offhost lag.  Then he will want to host, then when he goes down he will blame BioWare.  It's pretty entertaining.

The reason why some people don't like illegal algebra is because he is also known to be a jerk to some people. Score-whoring/not helping objectives is one thing (I personally find it more humorous) but when you get on a mic and start cursing, insulting, screaming and being just a complete disrespectful ass to other players because of how they play is just never appropriate. 

ok, I will concede if someone acts like this in a game that is- welp- bad to say the least. I have never witnessed him doing that. I only play with people that are nice LOL, friendly, fun. Otherwise I'd rather not.

I used to be a good team player, and not a score-wh*re. I'd get about 100K and a 15 revive medal every game.

I only revive people who contribute to the mission. Time wasters and complete noobs can bleed out for all I care. I'm done using up my consumables trying to revive players who'll die again 20sec later.

Just joined pUUG lobby on Xbox to find IndraOneSeven there. Glacier Reapers, the Flamer Vorcha took care of pretty much everything. The most fun I had was going all FTL in the closing seconds of wave 11 - GG, Indra

When you say "people" around BSN, it's mostly one person (and a couple of his camp followers) who campaigns against IA, but is prepared to put a LOT of effort into it. Also, see reply to SMR below.

I always thought the joke with illegal algebra was that he invariably left mid game, for whatever reason. I never had a full game with him until I joined a party he was in.

I've played a couple of pug games with Illegal Algebra also and we had fun. 

 

Funny, BSN told me I should hate him, Lakook, dumdum and Caineghis, and were only right half of the time.

Had a few good games with Seraphiene.

 

Especially the last game.  Two Paladins, a Krogan Shaman and a Slayer, on Glacier.  I'm fairly sure the entire rainbow exploded on a Phantom at more than one point during the match.  14 minutes with no missiles is a pretty fine time, too.

That's the key word, I think a lot of what was written on here were light-hearted jokes which some people have misunderstood. Just to be clear I get the feeling that Marksmad was referring to myself and B00g13. I cant speak for anyone else but all my comments on here have been light-hearted and I have joked with the guy on occasion, I have played with him a few times and yes he is a scorewhore and a try-hard but that doesn't bother me at all,it just means that the game will be quicker/easier.

On the subject of Illegal Algebra, he's always been a good teammate with me. I've never known him to be nasty in a game (and that's the sort of thing that shuts me down, regardless of gaming skill), he's there on objective waves, and he gets revive medals. Even his spawn-nuking is focused toward making a match smoother.

I came to the game relatively late, and I can't speak to whatever conflicts may have developed early on, but I have no reservations about playing with him.

You certainly do your share...A lot of those observations about the guy are true i.e. he is missile happy and likes to scorewhore but so do a lot of BSN'ers from my experience. Whenever I have played with the guy he has done the objectives and I dont try and compete in this game so his scorewhoring doesn't bother me at all.

Although- admittedly whenever I try to spawn nuke- I F up and end up killing like 3 cannibals or 2 soldiers or something instead of getting a kill streak. I love getting a kill streak bc it's FUN. So I do not bedgrudge anyone else doing it. Anyway to each their own- I get it if people just do not like each other I just didn't understand why all the hate.

To be clear, I don't dislike him. I've played several games with him. My first time playing with him didn't make a very good first impression though. He got angry at the host because the host apparently sent him a private voice message probably for not helping the escort the host and I were doing. Then algebra was got on his mic and started cursing nonstop. He basically wouldn't shut up  he also continued to harass the host by following him and shooting flamer in his face and this continued for the rest of the match. After the match he still harassed the host, making fun of him, etc. and then the host put a kick vote on him. I then did too only because I was really annoyed by this point. He said something about me ( though I can't remember exactly what it was) fourth pug joined the lobby but then left which caused algebra to be kicked mid rant. It was pretty hilarious.

 

Maybe the host was a douche for all I know but he didn't say anything over the mic for everyone else to hear. Oh well.    Every game I've played with math man afterwards has been fine. Just the usual silliness that everyone expects from him I guess.
