All adepts are very good with the Claymore, with the exception of ACA and the Voldept, but then again I play these only for themed challenges. I do prefer the Graal on the Shaman, though, but that's because I like to have a CQC playstyle with him.

Also, the Fury is handicapped in 4 very significant ways - she does not have Warp, she does not have Singularity, she does not have cluster grenades and lastly, she is not a Drell. :P

@Lemur

Regarding the HA, I now use duration Singularity for CC and reserve W+SW biosplosions for bosses. It plays to the strengths of both weapon and character, rather than try and still play it as a pure biotic.

Ah, I see. My troll-o-meter is a bit twitchy when words like "Talon" and "Hurricane" - let alone "Reegar" - are thrown around.

Gold games suck, 'cause they are Gold and all, so pay no mind to them. On the second match, to tell you the truth, I was expecting a Claymoar  Fury, being that she's the only adept who can effectively wield one. Games felt pretty smooth. The only time I was jumpy was on 4th device on that last wave, you went for it and I was keep throwing concussive shot from above that meant "I've got your back!", while I was afraid I was gonna be molested by a screaming teleporting Asari. Good games, Taffel!

I was quite suprised at how long the cooling time for throw was with the Spitfire, so I wanted something lighter.

I'm gonna try her with Claymoar now :)

This is not a discussion on whether Fury is the best Claymore wielder among adepts, but whether other adepts can wield it effectively. And yes, they can. Drell and Batarian, in particular, don't care about weight at all.

Well, but you could make it a discussion about whether the Fury is the best Claymore wielder among adepts, if you wanted- both the Slasher and the Drell make a perfectly legitimate case for that title. As you say, both give exactly zero f**ks about weight, and there are few things in this game more satisfying (or effective) than following up a Claymore shot from point blank with a Cluster 'nade BE (so much BOOM )..

Tried Fury with Claymoar, can't seem to get it working with the timing of BEs and reload :(

Yeah, it really is a competition between those three, and the  winner would depend on a number of factors. Fury, for example, would probably be best on Glacier (teleport), especially against mook factions, whereas Slasher would shine as a boss-killer (Warp >>> Reave) and Drell would just be an all-around beast. Ultimately it all comes down to personal preference, I think.

It's all about reload hiding, yo.

Anyway, I ran into EmbraceAzurity a bit ago. I think I've seen them around here. Sorry I had to leave, but the game was waaaaay too laggy. It took 5-6 seconds for my ops packs to activate after pressing the button, lol.

I don't blame you! That game was an absolute nightmare. I was tempted to leave too but I was hoping to salvage something out of my consumables. Shortly after you left, that 123 person bailed too, host migrated to that bad karma person, and the two of us were actually doing okay... until the 123 person came back and brought the lag with them again. A fourth joined and we actually made it to full extraction, though it wasn't a very fun journey.

Techno Turian descended into a laggy slaugherback's lobby to wreak reapers on dagger hazard with TSol/phaeston. Sorry, I was not turian but slaughterback was Havoc soldier, so that might have made a better game for you. :)

Like Salarian Jesus said, its all about the reload hiding- gotta get the timing for hiding the Claymore's reload to make it really shine. I also usually take the Recharge Speed 6b evo on Throw if I intend to use a heavy gun on her (gets the cooldown on Throw down from 3 sec to 2 sec, which is pretty key imo).

I was inspired by Tech Turian and decided to play a couple of games with glorious fat Turian soldier. I joined a few games but stability was glitching and finally it looked like it was just a bad day and I had to host. UUG gave Giant Hazard reapers and andy_3_913 joined with his justicar. We had a pretty smooth game, reapers did not stand a chance.

On the topic of the fury, I wanna know if they are any good builds that would be effective with the graal spike thrower.

Obviously this fury is a scrub and doesn't see the potential of the graal. I want to prove her wrong!, but i'm going to need help!

PS: This fury doesn't know that power amps don't make her biotic explosions more powerful lol

Explanation + Strategy

Fitness: I need at least lvl 5 Fitness, since I find shield recharge speed essential on Plat, which is where I play 99% of the time. Since I have a few leftover points, the best option from my point of view is to evolve to full health and shields.

Alliance Training: lvl 4, just for weight reduction. Lvl 5 headshot damage is not bad and lvl 6 10% extra damage is excellent for the Claymore, but it's too much points.

Singularity: Provides CC (especially on choke points) and biotic priming for your warp ammo.

Warp: lvl 5 debuff is esential. Lvl 6 is for the extra damage from biosplosions; I find it better here than in Singulaity, cause I get another debuff and I tend to use W+ SW on boss units, anything else dies mostly from one shot.

SW: Biosplosions and recharge speed. Take Radius if not on PC.

BOOMSTICK: I can afford to take HCB, cause I have 25% armor reduction from Warp and 25-65% from Warp ammo after the first shot. Annoying Guardians get stopped by Singularity and damaged through the shield; if they must be dealt immediately - there's always SW + Headshot. Taking HVB would reduce my cooldowns too much for too little gain.

Armor Bonus + Gear: If the lag is great or you are playing with idiots - Cyclonic is best, if not - I also choose between shield-recharge, power recharge and adrenaline. Gear is usually Stronghold or Shotgun (or GS/AC if it's a solo challenge and it's allowed).

Strategy: This one is more of a hybrid. I try to place a Singularity in a choke point, or use it for CC when some mook group spawns near me. Also great for phantom hunting. Speaking of which, heavy melee is also excellent against them, just don't do it when there are other baddies around. W + SW is standard, the highest biotic explosion damage (except Warp + clusters, I think). I just reserve it for bosses and groups, because my cooldowns are not the fastest.

I used to run this as a 66066, but I find this build to be more versatile and fun. The build on my other adept is your standard 66606 caster with 3 biosplosions every 8 seconds (S+SW+W).

Of course, there are other schools of thought, but that is what is fun and effective for me.

Thanks a lot, that's very interesting - and quite different from how I've used the kit. I'll be sure to give it a go with my other adept. :)

I'd be tempted to take Warp 6B instead of 6A, however. Difference in damage is minor, but that extra .6 seconds comes in handy at times. Any opinions on that?

Just read through the first 100 (yes 100) pages of this thread. Nostalgia. We had a hell of a lot of fun back then.

I have tried it for fun and it wasn't bad. I'm not terribly good with either kit or weapon, so I stayed in med range and relied a lot on DC + Throw or DC + warp ammo to the face rather than the usual AF/Throw combo. More aggressive players could probably make CQC work for them. I think I went 66644 cause I'm a fitness scrub.

Not particularly attached to either evolution. It might work out better, if you stick to Warp ammo. Depends on your preferred MO - I tend to like shorter cooldowns at the expense of some damage, so I'll probably like it better with 6b; I've been using the standard 4b/5b/6a evolution of Warp for so long that I really hadn't given it  much thought.

That's because there's clearly no discussion to be had on that ;)
