If a weapon works for you, it's a good weapon. If it doesn't work for you, it's a bad weapon.

Because it is not good? Because it is essentially redundant? Widow, Javelin, and Kishock all hit harder. Valiant fires faster. Mantis reload cancels to have a very similar firing rate. I can't speak for Mission_Scrubbed, but I can say I would take any of these guns mentioned before I took the Black Widow, an accurate Valiant user will do better overall, and a Claymore user will mop the floor with them.

 

If I was to compare the Black Widow to another gun, it would be the Viper. Both are not particularly BAD, just outclassed by similar guns (especially the Valiant).

 

But what does my opinion matter? I don't like the Harrier, or the Acolyte, Paladin, Shadow Strike, or the Hurricane. But I do like unpopular things like the BPP, the Tempest, Carnage, Electric Slash, and the Mantis. Clearly I have no idea what is good in this game.

AI enemies despite being stupid don't usually form a straight line infront of your scope. Claymore vs BW is kinda apples to oranges comparison. Kishock isn't lag friendly and can't penetrate guardian shields or shoot behind walls cover. BW is one of the most if not the most versatile and adaptable in any situation weapon able to drop mooks, bosses and everything that comes in between in fewer cloak cycles than all other sniper rifles. If someone say otherwise it's just because they have their BW at lvl 1 or 2 or can't aim for **** esp against moving targets.

Back on topic. I decided to play for a bit before going to bed. Went into a Game in progress, Unknown enemies on FBW Gold. One of the teammates was Frank_is_Crank. We both were playing as Salarian Infiltrator and had some good synergy watching each others back and doing omni-fist-bumps in between waves. Host left after first game and dunno why game decided to make me host even though I was streaming to twitch. I am not located in US or EU. If teammates or hosts are from Canada, Australia or US west coast some rubber banding is bound to happen. Sorry about that Frank. Good games dude Well Played

I can approve of your Black Widow gameplay. It was very good. Even that good I had to make up a story about lag... Nah, joking, sadly I had some lag spikes and some shots not registered.

Thanks Been playing quite a lot of games with BW so it has become my favorite weapon on my fav kit SI. And sorry about lag spikes I get them sometimes too when pugging. My ISP doesn't use a good route to regions other than Europe, UK and East Coast US and streaming to twitch can sometimes cause them more often. If we do bump into each other again you can host no problem I am used to playing with slightly higher ping that is also one of the reasons SI and BW are my fav kits and weapons coz they are a bit lag friendly

Clearly no clue. Valiant has higher DPS than Black Widow. Kishock hit box is big enough to hit through Guardian shield at the right angle. If you can actually aim, Valiant is FAR superior in EVERY way.

Personally, I prefer the Valiant to the BW, and the Widow to the Valiant. Hate the Kishorn. Love the scope on the widow though

Yeah empty half of Valiant's ammo in one atlas to take it down.

 

By DPS you mean Damage per shot or per second? Coz last I checked 2627 was BIGGER than 1466. And Gold Solo Speedruns seem to disagree with your Damage Per Second statement as well. None of the times in first page of that thread with valiant are under 20 minutes. And most of the times with BW are under 20 minutes.

I've run into quite a few BSNers in the last week, including a rare TheKillerAngel sighting (we were both using TSol shotgun builds... much fun). Good games, all!

Ran into donkbetter or something on PS3 earlier today on London Collectors. The frames were very rough that day (which is today), so in between a wave I go to grab a sandwitch to prepare myself. Only to return to a Collectors freeze... I continued eating my sandwitch instead.

Black Widow:

Single Clip DPS (Rank X): 923.80

Multi Clip DPS (Rank X, no Reload Cancel): 464.22

Multi Clip DPS (Rank X, Reload Cancel): 632.74

 

Valiant:

Single Clip DPS (Rank X): 859.17

Multi Clip DPS (Rank X, no Reload Cancel): 566.48

Multi Clip DPS (Rank X, Reload Cancel): 736.43

 

If you are ONLY considering one single clip as a comparison, the Black Widow will do slightly more DPS.  Unless you faceplant on the floor at the start of every wave (which some of you pugs do), then you are firing more than one clip per wave, and the Valiant will pull ahead in that case.  While you are still reloading, I'm done and firing.  And if you can't line up fresh targets that fast, then your DPS will be even lower than what is listed here.

I have a better idea. Why don't you take all that you wrote in your last post and shove it in your potty mouth and come talk to me when Valiant has replaced all those entries in that thread with a faster time.

Which is exactly what you are doing in the face of hard calculated mechanical evidence that your opinion is wrong.

 

As any in the solos thread can tell you, there are any of a dozen different factors which can affect overall completion time, most notably which objectives you get, which has absolutely nothing to do with your weapon's damage per shot/second.
