I wasn't playing ME3 an year ago. Actually I was taking a two-ish years break.

Highlight: a) Platinum fest with noo3tastic and ernesto_bih and a highly competent friend of theirs. Not entirely sure how I let myself get talked into this but it was a huge amount of fun. We extracted 3 times out of 4 platinum games. I provided almost no assistance in killing things but I at least stayed alive most waves with my TSent for one game and Hunters for the others. So thanks for the carry.

 

And with the oodles of credits as a result of this, I unlocked the Batarian Slasher and Quarian Marksman. So after a break (because Plat games are super tense) I took the Slasher out for a spin with the Raider IX (ended up as X a little later. YAY!) and a no-lash build I found here. And he was a lot of fun. The Raider was a lot of fun as well. Hadn't used it before.

 

c) Got the Reegar up to IV. Need to take it out with my Kroguard soon.

 

Low: Didn't get a chance to try the Marksman or the Krosol I unlocked a few days ago. As well as a few other kits I still haven't had a chance to use. And guns. Too many choices.

Yes, I talked about this last time I played with Nightman on X-Box. The X-Box scene took a serious dive in activity we noticed. Used to be the most active for me. So yeah, PS3 sees noticeable busier with activity. Everyone on X-Box retired or upgraded to X-Bone/PS4 it seems.

 

Anyway, I decided to stay a little while on X-Box until I now at least max my challenge points past 100 000 (it's currently at 94 910).

 

That issue where X-Box version always drops a couple of frames during waves is also getting very annoying. Because after the performance drop, you're always facing the wrong way, forced to hard cover, or your aim is now off. Since during those blind missing frames controller input responses still work.

Nothing wrong with that. I quit too when synced sometimes. Why spectate when I can roll the pug dice once more before the last pugs even begin to finish the wave I was in. Sometimes I just want to play now, not wait around.

Oh time passes differently in FTL travel Even though it was one year or probably shorter break it certainly did feel like an eternity. xD

It could be any reason. I think my ISP was having some problem at that time maybe. Or it's easier to blame lag than saying that I didn't do well last game Could be anything lol but what matters the most is that we had fun. lots of fun in those plat games.

Pugs wanna play Platinum

So yeah, there I was playing off host Havoc with lag, losing gels, ops... sync kill wave 7 was my cue to split and start my own Gold lobby. Two new manifest LoneWolves join, maybe they were alt accounts? But then someone I haven't seen in awhile joins. IlligalAlgebra. I kind of gave him the stink eye because he had Acolyte on a Flamer VorchaSent. But no nades, so maybe he was doing both Acolyte and Flamer challenges. "No problemo" I say. Lets start. Glacier. Great. He's gonna get that Acolyte Flamer challenge done in one match now. But that wasn't the problem. That was once the nuking started from all 3 of them. Especially bad when it's on Glacier. Such an old tired cliche.

 

Back in the lobby I was all set to bail and start a new lobby. If they like spawn nuking, that fine, but I enjoy killing things the old fashioned way more often. Then one of the LoneWolves sends me a msg saying "Platinum?" That made me stay. They can nuke and go full cheese all they want on anything goes Platinum, so I ninja'd to Plat and stayed. Thought since I was in the warm bosom of two LoneWolves and IlligalMath, I should be ok with just lvl.2 consumables and no on host phantom backup, right? Wrong. Wave one starts, everyone is doing their thing. IllogalMath is down by a Turret and soon after got stumpted out. Maybe faulty camera blinded him from seeing the boot. Wave 2. IlligalMath was nowhere to be seen, guess he didn't notice the ninja and got upset. I don't know why it would of been a problem, he had Particle Rifle Geth Juggernaut and good consumables. So there I was left alone to carry LoneWolves and some other joining pug that did even less. Wave 8 and 9 was all me. Back at the LZ I told the chopper it was just me.

 

 

TL:DR - IlligalMath let me down. And just because I know how to play don't mean I want to make pugs the big Platinum bucks. Especially when I'm working of Challenge Points.

 

 

PS - also Nightman dropped into my lobby for the last 2 matches of last night. It was pretty late, so Nightman was getting pretty drunk too. Sucks I can't join him with the drinking anymore.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Illeagal Subtractions is just a spawn nuking, score-boring scurb...he cannot stand to be behind anybody in points for even a few seconds...he will nuke an entire wave just to top-score...and he never helps with objectives....

The GI Best of the Best Host scored all of 40k points on Rio/Reapers/Gold.  I told him I do not think that word means what he thinks it means.  For the next game he switched to a Volus Adept and did absolutely nothing except follow me around the entire match spamming Shield Boost at me trying to lock up my powers.  But I had BatSol with Inferno Grenades and plenty of Melee anyway, so it mattered not one bit.

 

Andy dropped in on Wave 9 or so.  I would have stuck around but the Host quit after that one.

Ran into GDICanuck for what turned into Hazard Ghost, Reapers. Good game and thank you for switching to phasic ammo in the lobby, not that I would have said anything. I don't actually mind detonating tech bursts as a Fury, but biotic explosions are so much more satisfying.

Also had a super laggy game with TheShadyEngineer on white yesterday (or... the day before?) - enemies (teleporting) everywhere!  Still extracted, which is what I expect when I bump into him.

GG mate, a pleasure as always. Nice to run into a friendly face, especially while grinding waves with some of my least favourite kits for outsider mastery. Shame about the host migration afterwards.

Bumped for the first time in ages into JDMolerat for a nice run against collectors on Reactor Hazard. He used claymore destroyer and I used claymore geth trooper. Needless to say, collectors got totally claymored, burned, fragmented and otherwise mutilated.
