I'm sorry if the argument of this topic has already been raised elsewhere, but i've precious little time to post and couldn't search for it.
I've got a early 2009 MacBook Pro 15", with 4 GB Ram, Nvidia GeForce 9400 256 Mb and 9600GT 512 Mb. I've installed WindowsXP SP3 using Bootcamp in a partition of mi hard disk. There, I've installed Dragon Age Origins and it worked just fine: I've completed my first playthrough with no issue at all.
When I downloaded and installed the 1.00 version of the Toolset, I couldn't open it: no problem arose during installation but, when I tried to open it, I only received an error message stating that the toolset couldn't access the database.
After removing-reinstalling a few times, I noticed in the meantime the new 1.01 version was available. I downloaded it, hoping that would work but then, again, after installing without problems, it won't open the program: the error message is always the same, it can't connect to the Database.
I've read the Wiki, but so far none of the possible solutions that are listed there and that I've tried have worked.

Can someone please tell me if it's just a software problem, and so if I have to keep on trying with what's written in the wiki, or if it's an hardware problem or even if it's a problem o hardware/software dialogue, being my machine's hardware a Macintosh one and the Toolset thought for Windows?

Thanks a lot, and sorry: my english is a bit rusted (haven't been using it a lot lately).
See ya around!

Ciao!

I have the same problem with my other MacMini, while another Mac with almost exactly the same specs opens the toolset with no problems. The one that I am getting this "can't connect to database" also had a problem installing SP3 on it, had to hide the Mac drive from the Windows before managed to install SP3 to it. So I'm assuming it might have to do with the same problem somehow, especially the SQLServer which is used to connect to the database. I have not yet verified this however, but am going to try it probably today. I think that for some reason the SQLServer tries to either install something to the Mac drive or look for something from it.

And I have also uninstalled and reinstalled toolset multiple times, read every possible wiki suggestion and followed every possible step there, even tried to manually install the SQLServer, to no avail.

Might also be only an issue with the Snow Leopard and bootcamp, since I remember that the other Mini didn't have any issues on installing SP3 before Snow Leopard.

So I suggest you try to prevent the Windows 'seeing' the Mac drive, and then try again. And be sure you have really uninstalled SQLServer completely, I found it very difficult to do, had to do it manually in some parts.

Thanks for the hints. I'll try in the next few hours/days. I'll let you know if I manage to make it work or not. ;)
