Dear Bioware:

I purchased "The Exile Prince" and the final cutscene in the quest "Faith" in Act 3 won't download. It's so bad that it freezes my computer and I have to do a hard shutdown to get my computer working. PLEASE FIX IT!!!

Ah yes.  I too had this happen on my PC version (can I assume you are also on the PC?).  There are a number of us who have reported this, but nothing yet (or possibly ever will) be done.  HOWEVER.....I have experimented a bit with this, and I did eventually get it to work.  Here is what I did (BTW, I am trying to be as SPOILER FREE as possible, since we are in the NO SPOILER section):

1) Once I found I couldn't complete "Faith" without my computer freezing and not finishing said quest, I reverted to a save I had before ever going into the Chantry to speak to Sebastian.

2) I moved on to other quests, and ended up getting him "maxed out" on friendship, for that run (will be trying the same thing with a rival run, soon.)

3) I then did Anders' companion quest to collect his "goodies", then refused to aide him with the "distraction".  THEN I went to the Chantry, spoke to Elthina first (following dialogue lines regarding Anders' quest), then spoke to Sebastian.

4) Went and did "Faith", and this time it worked; no freezing, and quest was complete.

Now, I am the first to admit, I have NO IDEA (lol) what helped in this situation.  I had made up my mind that I would get everything else complete, then give the "Faith" quest another shot.  If it worked, great!  If not, so be it and I move on.  But, it did work.  I need to run this a few more times on other PT, before I would say that it is a true workaround....obviously.  Still, it is something you can try.  Good luck.Image IPB

I'll try this. It'd be nice, though, if the developers would read this and fix the damn thing.

Don't install Patch 4 and you don't have that problem

I haven't experienced that bug, and don't know what causes it.

With that said, I've found that sometimes you can get around crashes by changing the settings to play the game in windowed, rather than full screen mode. I know that that got me past some persistent crashing in one part of DA:O. May be worth trying here.

When lauching the game, just click "configure" from the launcher, and you'll find the "play in full screen mode" tick box under the "video" category. Unselect it, and try if you can get past the quest in windowed mode - you can always set it back to full screen afterwards.

Actually, now that I think of it, I sometimes experience a freeze bug where there's the text "loading...." that appears on screen - if that happens, then 90% of the time pressing ESC works.
