When the leader drops from the match for whatever reason, why do the majority of other players backout instead of letting the match re-start? This happened to me twice the other night. From what I know, they lose the credits and experience from that match, or am I mistaken?

Nobody knows why this happens.

It is up to the player (on Xbox) to remove him/her self from the match. It just seems like a wast of time not to complete it with the rest of the squad.

A screen pops up with a message saying "Press B to exit", people just press B, like they go to the extraction zone as soon as wave 11 starts, it's a reflex.

I get kicked from time to time. I think it depends on your connection to the new host as well

Is it truly a reflex or is it a misunderstanding of the game mechanics for new players?

Nobody wants to sit in that god-awful screen.

Originally for me, it was a reflex.
Now I just host my own matches, so it doesn't really matter.

Have we as a society became that impatient that we cannot wait a few seconds for the restart? The most i've waited is about 20 sec.

Sometimes when the host quits/looses connection, it will sever your connection as well.

It's usually because they either get stuck on the screen or get kicked.

A few times I've been in the middle of meleeing an enemy when it happens. Same button as exit...

This has been happening more and more lately even with friends who never had issues before. Sometimes you dont get the option to hit b you get kicked or lose your connection too.

All very viable answers. Thank you for helping to clear up a little frustration on my part. It seemed like I'd join a game on wave 2, wave 4 leader quits, then I'm soloing the rest of the match, or just going ahead and dying so I can find some others to play with. To me, the MP is more fun with others, especially when I'm not in the mood to solo the rest of the match.

Those info popups. So helpful. Press B to die.

This. The loading screens in this game annoy me more than the store.

not only do they miss out on credits and experiences, but your rockets, medi-gels, etc get topped up again.

Because I will be host.
You don't want me as the host.

They probably lost their connection too.

A lot of the time, host migration results in losing connection. Compatibility between players and their internet settings can make things difficult. I have a friend who can't connect to me and I can't connect to him. But if someone else hosts, we both can join then.

I sometimes hit the Exit-Button on pure Reflex.

I generally wait and stick it out to try to get the credits I should have earned.

When host leaves, people have a tendency to just quit cuz cohesion doesn't seem likely.
