It's most likely a reflex, happened to me a couple of times.
But I also suspect that because it happens so often, people leave because they think everyone else will.

It pisses me off when I'm in a melee chain and the host quits. I have to try and rejoin before everyone dies from having half a team or it gets filled with randoms.

I have always wondered how it assigns the next host? Anytime I am assigned host it is only a matter of minutes before I DC. But there is no way to know until it happens...that I know of.
