And yep, it's weird lore-wise (esp. for Cousland), but considering it's rarely heard and so light, it might be splitting hair a tiny little bit
The french accent

Ugh please I hope the main character doesn't have an Orlesian accent, the only Orlesian accent I actually liked was Lelianas.
That's because the VA is French. So it's the real thing.

That..escalated appropriately.
Don't like someone's accent? Knock them out and kill their children. It's the right thing to do people.

I am not bothered by the french accent either. I am actually hoping for Isolde as a companion. Yelling "teeeaaagaaan!" as a battle cry. 100 gamer points on an achievement for using her in all missions
I must have laughed my a** off on that. Good one Sir.

It is right. I once killed someone because they left the seat up. Stabbed them right in the throat and enjoyed watching them bleed out. It was actually quite fascinating to watch. There was this other guy who touched my ass, so I screwed his precious little girl... 's duck. It was tight, you know, for a duck.
What's with the weird looks?
And thanks to your avatar, I can now say I've imagined a chicken screwing a duck.

Genuine French accents are beautiful. But like in any part of the world, there are many versions of the French accent. I like alot of them and I would love for the protagonist to have one. Honestly, I'm tired of the majority of the people in sword and sorcery games having English accents. Don't get me wrong, I love English accents. I'm just a little burned out on them in DA. I'd like it if they mixed it up a little. Some joke about Russian accents, but again, I find them beautiful.
Bad fake accents are terrible and Bioware usually does a good job of keeping that out.
You speak the truth. It's just not the French acents that vary it's all acents.
Some people who know me say I have a bit of a Southren country accent. (American southren)
However other people say I have a bit of a Westren country accent. (American west)
But when you talk with people from them two diffrent parts they will tell you I don't sound like them at all.
I do speak with an accent but Its due to speaking diffrent languages anyways one being Latin.
So I'm not sure what you would call my accent and really I don't care to know.
But.... that was my point.
If we are talking about French speaking people then the question becomes witch ones.
It's like asking for an Italian speaking person. You would get all kinds of people to show up to do that part.
And what one person thinks of when they hear you say Italian speaking person will be totaly diffrent to another person who thinks what an Italian speaking person sounds like.
Anyways this may have gotten away from me some but I hope you all know what I'm trying to say.

No matter how many accents we got (and we've got a lot), general French accent is pretty much standardized, thanks to both Académie Française (language) and Comédie Française (official theater), sort of like the English RP without the poshness attached. As much as I'd love hearing different ones "translated", including my own, the accent we'll most likely get is the "official" one, if only because it's the one that's most recognized abroad.w0lfam0da1s wrote...

So you don't think it will be Cananian French?
Only because Bioware is in Canada.
I personaly would think it would be funny for them to use Creole French. Just because it's totaly diffrent then what we would expect to be in the game. Also something that most people don't get to hear. So it would be a twist to the French language that people know.
Anyways good post.
