Lord Sirian shared this with me a while ago and I figured it'd be good to share it with BSN. It's well known how framerate affects difficulty in this game, and here we have a direct comparison between high, medium, and very low framerates.

60 FPS - 0:20
30 FPS - 4:05
15 FPS - 7:37

If you want the lulzy part, skip right away to 15 fps, it's hilarious to see the kind of crap you can get away with at that framerate (though 30 fps already lets you get away with a lot).

Credit to Sirian and tyhw for the video.

P.S.: Best part is at 0:34 though. <3

EDIT: A message to the community from the former top hat krogan himself (a.k.a Lord_Sirian):

I would like it known that I have no agenda with this video. It is simply a comparison of different framerates. A couple of things to keep in mind: 1. The FPS issue is the SAME for both PC and console, this means that the 30 FPS demonstration here demos what console AI is like. 2. This does NOT mean that the game is easier on console, as console players have to deal with worse controls, cannot easily run perpendicular to the enemy, etc. 3. There is no selective editing here. In the 60 FPS video I was doing what I usually do in order to not die (aside from actually using hard/soft cover and killing enemies of course). The difference between 60 FPS and 30 FPS is very real and very noticeable. Note that at 30 and 15 FPS, tyhw and I still died several times, but basically only when we stopped sprinting and/or dodging and either walked in a straight line or held still.

Again, I have no agenda here, I am not trying to defame anyone or diminish anyone's achievements. Nor am I attempting to say that PC is more difficult than console.

I tried a 60 FPS platinum solo v collectors using a low DPS class once. Needless to say, I didn't try again.

The 60 to 30 FPS thing affects my Huntress the most. Because I have to sneak in and out of CQC, at 60 FPS, it's a lot more risky.
:unsure:

It was hard to watch the 15 fps part. I can't believe some people can play like that.

15fps is painful to watch. I would've liked to see some quick scope sniping in each. Do over! :D

Interesting.

Too bad there's no 120 FPS though, that would have been fun.

I tried soloing at 120 FPS. Once. :sick:

I never play lower than 30 fps for two reasons.

1 - it hurts my eyes, I would rather play at 60 if not for...
2 - the game was meant to be played at 30 fps (because of console pandering). Anything higher makes enemies OP, and anything lower I would consider cheating.

browse to
C:\\Users\\XXXXX\\Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 3\\BIOGame\\Config

open file GamerSettings with notepad  add the following lines to the end of the document
UseVsync=False
SmoothFramerate=True
MinSmoothedFramerate=xx
MaxSmoothedFramerate=yy

replaces xx and yy with fps values you want ideally 22 and 30 (i have mine set to 22 and 62 just cause the harder is funner save for magnetic hands B and P. ) and play the game in full screen mode not fullscreen windowed mode.

Just my observations, but the AI on PC Gold 30 FPS looks worse than Console Bronze AI. 60 FPS looked closer to what console Gold is like.

Well a little while ago I was having FPS issues because my computer needed cleaning, and I was getting 15 FPS or lower. The game was basically unplayable for me.

30 is bad enough. 50-60 or gtfo.

It's a lot harder to avoid fire when running on console because you don't really have the ability to turn while running.

If I had to guess, I'd say the 30FPS AI on PC is the same 30FPS AI on Console, but it's much harder ensure that you can run perpendicular to the line of enemy fire on Console.

Yeah, you can't change how the engine works, 30 fps AI is 30 fps AI regardless of platform. As you point out, main difference is how you can't avoid fire while running as easily on console.
