i had the Ostigar add on and deleted it, then cleared cache. Then I started the game.

ok so on my second playthrough, i recruited everyone
dog
leliana
oghren
sten
morrigan
wynne
(secret character)
shale DLC (i know this isnt for achievement, but just throwing out there)
unfortunately, still no achievement. i have read the forums, and im not pleased to see that there is in fact a bug. i am very upset i havent got this achievement. hopefully bioware has seen this problem and is fixing it. I've asked other friends how they got it, and everyone tells me it takes 1 playthrough. many friends of mine have it, idk why im any different. can someone please tell me a solution to this problem (if there is one) I playing DAO on the xbox 360, and on my second playthrough i am a dalish elf warrior. grr i hope this doesnt crash my hopes of having all achievements in this game. to add onto my last post, i remembered that there was an update that i downloaded yesterday, i believe this is the same update that bioware came out with along with the elusive RtO DLC. i have read that people have been having specialization problems with this update, could this be another bug along with that?

Could be, I just cleared the cache and reinstalled the game, then updated again and started a new play through.

yea you must be lucky tried it, and didnt work for me.  Do you guys think that as long as you cleared your cache and started an entirely new game and unlocked everyone, the achievement would work?

ok srry to be a bother, i cleared the cache and went to my save data b4 the landsmeet, i did everything again and still no achievement. when you say you reinstalled the game, do you mean to your harddrive? because i have my DAO installed to harddrive, and plus when i reloaded game, b4 menus there was no update after clearing cache. grr this is so frustrating lol

I deleted the Install on the hard drive, not the save. Then i updated it again and started a new game, new character and what not. Then when i got to Ostgar "after you become a warden" the achievement popped up.

I dont think installation of the game has anything to due with it.  Im trying to get these flippin achievements as well.  I think this stupid update perhaps affected the save files, so im wondering if you have to do a new game, or wipe out your data entirely.  Im hoping at worse a new game would suffice, but since i did everything else already it would be annoying to go through it again

You shouldnt have to delete your saves because I didnt, I just started a new game character and it worked.

hooray! lol i got the recruiter achievement right after i met alistar. tyvm for this information, i probably wouldnt have gotten the answer elsewhere. To all who are having the same issues with this achievement, this method does work, and i highly suggest it. For anyone reading this, these are the things you need to do if you run into this problem.
1. clear system cache (to do this go to memory, highlight your hdd and press y, it should be an option to clear)
2. start up dragon age: origins
3. select new game (note* idk if this has anything to do with it, but i chose female city elf rogue)
4. around the time you finish the origin story and start doing quests in ostagar you should get the achievement.

Great I gotta try this for the hopeless romantic. I got all 4 of the achievements but the last one didn't pop. I might try wiping all my data and starting from scratch if it doesn't work.

i guess im just unlucky.  I followed the same steps, one by one.  Picked up alistair and waited for my achievement glory goodness... to no avail.  went back to the landsmeet on another save file and same thing.

Should it pop up as soon as you pick up alistair?  do you have to do a couple quests first?  do you have to finish the joining to get it to show up?

ill try the whole thing again hoping and praying

make sure you are female elf city rouge.  that piece does matter as other races it doesnt work.  i also let all the dialouge play out but that piece probably isnt important.  but yea it def unlocked recruitment achievement

Bioware MUST resolve this problem, because i've paid 79,99 euros in order to have a game without problems, not a bugged one.

I cleared my cache, started a new game, female city elf rogue, but no dice. I STILL cannot seem to get the achievement.

What a headache. D:

Did you do the human origins though? Form what I have been reading that is the secret to it.
