I tried the above methods - clearing cache and playing through an origin story up through Ostagar - and it still did not unlock. I also cleared the cache and reloaded my save just before recruiting Loghain, and still nothing.

i got my achievement in the same way as TheDudewithanXbox but i was a mage this time lol so i think it work with other than just the elf girl

I tried to get this today with a different playthrough, after getting the secret companion in my last one. Before I started, I cleared my cache, uninstalled the game, re-installed the game, and continued after I just got to Ostagar. I recruited Alistair, Morrigan, the Dog, Leliana, and Sten, still no Recruiter achievement.



I think what might set this apart from the mentioned solution is that I created this character before I downloaded/deleted the patch and cleared my cache. I guess I'll try a brand new character when I get time to see if I can get the achievement to pop.

even though everyone here has most likely beaten the game since you dont get the last character until the end





same thing happened to me on my first playthrough. i recruited loghain at the end and played it out to the end of the game and still no achievement. note that i did the ritual with morrigan to spare my own life. so after the end i reloaded an earlier save just before my ritual with morrigan. this time i refused her offer and the second she left the party the achievement popped. no idea if this was coincidental or if it may be a trick in getting it to pop. just thought i would share it since this achievement was frustrating and this is how i got it

This was driving me nuts. I fired through F city elf in about 5 mins by skipping as much as possible and the recruiter popped up the second you meet big bad Al.

Having this problem as well.. But on top of it not unlocking the achievement, I can't seem to level up to 20. I'm at full 19 and I have given out points to my char for the level, but it still says 19. So that's another achievement I won't be getting. Also, the talent specializations seem to have been locked. Is all this the doing of the latest patch?

Ok so sorry to add more fuel to the fire, but i have the same problem and i didn't even download the Returen to Ostagar Dlc. All i have is the preordered dlc, Shale the three bonus items and the Wardens keep. did the playthrough just like you said nothing happened. If anyone has any other tips that would be grand. Plus bioware if your listening, great game, bad bugs!!

The title update that was released probably caused it. Just clear your cache and it should fix itself.

Now when you say clear your cache you mean delete all dragon age saves from your hard drive? Does this mean i have to repay for the DLC and redeem codes? sorry im a dunce i know.

Go to My Xbox > System Settings, select, go to Memory > brings up Hard Drive, press the Y button, which should bring up 3 options, the last one being 'Clear System Cache'. That's what you want to clear.

I've done that several times myself.

I tried the Fem City Elf "fix", but I'm still having problems with Recruitment being locked. I think the only two options I have left are trying to recover my gamertag or just waiting for the fix for all of this.

Well after glitching recruitment achievement and doing the system cache trick I am at 54/55 achievements. My XBL account still thinks I have Return To Ostagar which prevents me from getting 55/55 even though the game shows me 54/54 when I open achievement menu. So it's not a completed game persay. A bit weary of whats going to happen to RoA so I can finaly put the game in the completed pile but something tells me they won't releases it for download.

I just went to main website to see that a new DLC is coming out soon but why if RoA gave buggy experience for quite a few of us. I'd rather have them fix RoA for completeion then putting out a incomplete DLC again.

Best case scenario is they will re-release RoA with that new contect and throughly test for bugs this time around.

A bit of a vent I understand but it's a great title and I was to continue my support for bioware. We will see I guess.

Speaking of the devil RoA returned today so maybe it's not all lost.

Finally got this to work, I loaded a save before I met Alistair, but that didn't seem to do it, so I loaded one before the Landsmeet and that did the trick. I downloaded the update that was released this morning as well, give it a try if you're still having problems.

I have been having the same problem and im gonna try that. but i was wondering if this same bug could also affect the perfectionist achievement, has anyone had any trouble with that? Just wanted a heads up cause i got three out of four endings for that achievement
