Any lvl 1 nade class with a nade cap V gear used properly can wreck.

Some grenades are better than others. Arcs only do 400 on a lvl one kit. Lifts and Nightshades do much more and aslo don't detonate combos much. That's important, since 6x1 combos  or 1x1 ammo primed combos ought to be avoided in favor of bigger ones that your team might trigger.

I've never taken a level 1 into Gold, but I do enjoy doing it in Silver. May have to try one of these days.

Easier in my experience with any kit that can dodge, harrier and claymore/wraith/pirahna or scorpion with lvl 3 consumables or above. I also only play lvl 1 kits with friends as its faster to get a game started, most pugs will see the kit level and not look at your loadout, no matter what you say.,

Cos you have an level 1 character does not mean the player is. Clue look at the N7 rating and how many CP they have with promoted for that type of character.

The question is: Would you do it without n7 challenge? :P

It's not really that difficult if a player knows the game really well. I used to do it all the time with asari adepts at level 1 and such. It's definitely about bringing a good gun though. Appropriate gear and equipment are useful as well.

cyclonic modulator IV makes everything level-up viable.

My friends do that with us all the time on gold ( and even platinum a few times ) when they were working on their promotions. However, they put on good consumables.

If I run into a level one in pugs I'll leave the lobby - I'll assume that you meant to try a silver and got the wrong difficulty.

Yeah, there's only a few classes I feel comfortable doing this with and I typically try to do it only with friends. I only do it with AIU, N7 Paladin, N7 Destroyer, Asari Adept and Kroguard... but that's all.

If I DO end up doing it in a PUG, I hope that my level X/V equipment show that I've been around long enough not to be a liability, plus equip some items so I'm not entirely dead weight.

Really fun and sometimes challenging... also rewarding when you outscore most, if not all, the randoms you're with, heh.

I don't do it myself because I feel far too useless as a level 1, but if somebody has a good loadout and a decent'ish N7 score in a Gold match I won't kick them.

Usually I play Bronze up to level 10, switch to Silver till level 16, then switch to Gold.

:innocent:

Of the old days of grinding, I remember my level 1 Krosent on Reactor...  Reapers, Platinum, Public.
And a Demolisher on Rio...
And many more.
The lobbies were properly suspicious, more than once, but a quick reassurance and the consumable I had on convinced them often: 2nd place with extraction was my average score, in case you're wondering.
It's not an easy achievment, but, damn if it isn't satisfying.
:D

Strangely one of my best Gold matches was with a level 4 Q engineer. Never had any problems with her on Gold. Of course, that was before the big Gold update.

After N7 mastery, I vowed to never promote again.

But yes, lots of level 1 kits are gold-viable

So effectively your leeching? Not cool to be honest, so What if you have a Black Widow at 10? When a rocket tropper will kill you in 2 shots? Unless your a Krogan.

Not fair on those who want to do well and put on there best consumables, as your simply detrimental to the team.

How is it leeching if in any given Gold PUG, even with a level 1 kit I tend to be near the top of the scorebaord, doing all the objectives and racking up revives?

If you can be of use to the team (read "Level 1 character /=/ dead weight ") and put consumables on, you're not leeching. Sure, maybe you can't kill things as faster as you're used to, but gold level 1 (and Platinum level 1) with tryhard pants is very different from leeching.
Leeching is shameful: 2nd place and extraction with a level 1 character is not.
It isn't easy to give faith in PUG, I admit it, but don't make the mistake to put everyone in the same basket with the leechers, please.

Gold with level 1's is easy if you use consumables and pack a big ass gun.

Pretty much this. I've played platinum matches with people being level 1. They do fine if they bring a good weapon and a little bit of knowledge how the game works. So I never really cared what level the character is. I do care however if it's a level 1 character with a Pulse Rifle 2

Agreed but looking at the N7 rating or the promotions they have with that class doesn't help you at all. I don't promote and some of the classes I've only promoted once. That doesn't mean I don't know what I'm doing. If its a low level character always look at the loadout and the consumables.

Take a level zero into Platinum thats fun (but only with friends)

Last second change of mind I swoped to my level 20 Demolisher.

Got into game No Powers :pinched:
Hadn't used her since promoting.  Had to play very carefully but hey we all extracted.

QFFT!
I don't care what any clown has to say who doesn't promote, if I see someone has promoted thier class over 100 times, they can play at level 1. N7 matters significantly when you count in the blue bar promotions. Seeing someone with 2~10 promos definetly don't messure up to someone who has gotten over 3K N7 on one class.

Lol only people who say this are people who suck with level 1s. My question is, what is leeching? Getting a low score? (which isn't even a indication) I outscore pugs/clutch pug gold games on a consistant basis with level 1s. Leeching is going into a difficulty where a person can't handle the AI. To be honest I see azzloads of level 20s doing a greater job at that rather than level 1s. There is no doing your best, its either you know the AI, know what works against the enemy and make use of your most effective powers, and are going to win, or your still learning and most likely would be better of in a lighter difficulty. I've been running level 1s in gold since the release with an avenger 1. - No missles counted btw, yea, I bust faces without having to rocket. Grenades though is another story;)
