I haven't rolled any class over in a long time, so haven't needed to play any level 1's in gold.

FYI, my requirements are now relaxed and I would play any class as a level 1 in gold, not just infiltrators

Nice.  I'm glad the thread has some positive effect.  Next time I promote, I'm taking the drelldept.  One point in reave, one point in clusters.  Black Widow X and some Warp Ammo IV.

Nah, same opinion.  I'm just part of the 5% now.  :innocent: The real shocker in the post is that I agreed with Cmndwnwrkn. 

FYI, played a Gold/Condor PUG with you this weekend.  Drellguard/Zerfidius.  Good times, though I had a bit of lag.

Playing as a level 1 is stupid and ineffecient, while playing as a OP kit and getting a bunch of XP for a class thats not getting it because its level 20 then bragging about it is cool.

It's not as inefficient as some people think. If you can score headshots and know how to deplete wave budget quickly by picking out the little guys first then pretty much any weapon on a level 1 will grant you enough kills per second to get on top of the score board in most pug games anyway.

Kick-happy PUGs aside, it's really down to how happy you feel as a player when rolling a level one. I suppose it's easier for characters like krogan who are beefy, and so you don't have to worry about fitness. Likewise the turian ghost and havoc are ready to go with stim packs!

Otherwise you only have two points to spend; on casters it's best to go with powers straight away.

I'm also still promoting all the time but I never take a level one in PUGs (because of the kick votes). So I splash out on a couple of recruit packs until I'm level 4.

As long as I'm not a liability to the team, I feel comfortable.

Yesterday a host used a lvl 1 GI with GPS on U/U/P. I stayed because I trusted him more than the lvl 20 puggernauts hosting games. He did very well and after the match got him to lvl 11, he dominated the next game. So it depends on who is playing a lvl 1 and what loadout is choosen.

I used level 1 on Plat a few times. With friends, anything goes. Normally we get enough xp to reach level 13 in one match.
Level 1 on Gold is what I've been pugging around recently. I get kicked out from time to time, but I can't complain. People are very skeptical and probably with good reason. I still managed to top the scoreboards a few times with a Batdept Wraith Incendiary. Such a beast character at level 1.

be good to level 1s its good karma the store will thank you for your kindness and i have done what op suggested but only with grenage classes

There are a few kits I have done that with but not many. I usually level up on silver to at least level 10 and then go for gold.

I'm level 20K... do you really think that I've never played as a level 1, you guys really need to think outside the box. Sarcasim... its not a weapon that should be used like this...

pretty much any infiltrator will do well on gold as a lvl 1. I do it often.

I prefer to play a silver first so that I can take all my powers or second grenades to fights on gold,

I have done lv1 golds, but 1 grenade or power is a little restrictive to me.

I only started playing again a week ago after a 3 month hiatus.  Totally different PC -- not mine, not built for games -- so it took me a while to figure out how to play well.  The fact that it's on a treadmill desk has made headshot medals a bit of a joke.  But yeah, I'm back and down for some excellent games with you.
