In case you don't know who any of these people are and arguments for or against:
1. Jason Rubin: The former CEO of Naughty Dog and THQ. His polite and professional manner of conducting himself along with selling THQ off rather than save it by releasing unfinished products has already made him a hit with fans. Afrer resigning from Naught Dog after c riticizing Sony for not giving devs enough credit, the creator of Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter went underground for a few years before his failed attempt to save THQ. Unfortunately, THQ still fell apart under him but not for lack of trying. His only title published within the period of his leadership, Darksiders II, was still an amazing game. He's currently writing a comic book series which probably pays a lot less than being a CEO.
2. John Romero. John Romero has had his ups and downs. Sadly, most people only remember him for taking Ion Storm way overbudget and recently refunding everyone who donated to his Kickstarter. Still, he proved to be an effective manager at id and Midway and is currently the CEO of Loot Drop which also employs fellow gaming legend Tom Hall. Romero's charisma and personable nature would certainly win over fans but his ego might end up just as annoying. Still, this is the man who worked on Deus Ex, Doom, Wolfenstein 3D, Area 51, Theif 3, Quake and Anachronox. Diakatana is merely a small misstep in an otherwise solid protfolio.
3. Trip Hawkins. The ORIGINAL EA CEO. Of course he later drove 3DO into the ground with a nasty letter to Gamepro and countless trashy Army Men games that nobody wanted or bought. He's recently retired from his mobile company but might still be able to come back to fill a void at EA and would probably be a choice welcomed by fans.
4. Cliff Blizinsky. No, he's never been a CEO but he does have an amazing knowledge of the gaming industry and some very solid business sense. His disdain for PC gaming due to piracy might not win over the most vocal critics of EA but his willingness to criticize the worst practices of the industry and internalize constructive criticism would go a long way toward repairing EA's image. This is the man responsible for Unreal Tournament and Gears of War we're talking about. He's able to manage an amazing team and develop a AAA title on a tiny budget that will sell at least three million copies.
5. Joe Madureira. The former CEO of Vigil Games and creator of Darksiders. While he may not have the longest resume, he's unemployed and knows how to run a game company that produces quality AAA titles. The only downside is that neither Darksiders game sold any units despite their quality. Granted, that was due to poor marketing but he has his head on straight and that's better than can be said about many of the other options available for the position. Then again, two games it's a pattern, it's a fluke.
6. Peter Moore. The current COO of EA and head of EA Sports. He's also the man who saved Sega after the Dreamcast failed and helped Microsoft build the original Xbox from a failed console into a serious contender in the sixth gen and then watched the Xbox 360's launch overtake the Playstation 3. During his time at EA, he's the head of EA Sports and COO which gives him serious clout. Sadly, he's also been very vocal about microtransactions which is fine for free to paly and games with a strong multiplyer but nobody wants in campaign.
7. Mitch Lasky. Yes, he's stronghly criticized EA for years after quitting but much of his criticism is justified. He's also helped to establish free to play and cloud gaming as emerging (although unproven) markets. The question is whether or not gamers will want to adopt somebody who openly adopts new technologies when gamers are notoriously conservative.
There you go, seven choices with argumetns for and against. Who should take over EA and be put in charge of Mass Effect's future?

Probably get a better reception over in the Off-Topic forum, since this isn't ME3-related.

I would say Ray Watamaniuk and Greg Zeschuk but we all know that's not going to happen.

Might as well go all the way to the dark side.

Having said that, I vote Shepard as CEO. Just because I want to see him jump up during a board meeting and shout at marketting..."I'm tired of your disengenius insinuations!" <POW>
No offense to the marketting team <G>.

A story not up to BioWare standards (as if that matters) and only refinement of existing game mechanics are cons for a CEO position now? Makes sense.KevinT18 wrote...
Cliff Blezinski? No way. GoW 1-3, while good mechanically, was essentially largely his creative vision. And my point is, the story is nothing compared to BW stuff. It's also quite linear and broke no new narrative or game design grounds outside of the cover system, which really already existed.
I would say Ray Watamaniuk and Greg Zeschuk but we all know that's not going to happen.

There are a lot of women who would be great at job if given the chance. I honestly believe business sense is more important than in depth gaming knowledge. Should be about analysing the markets, making sure games given proper development time and increasing revenue. The manager in Walmart doesn't need to have milked a cow to be able to sell milk.

Fine, but then again this topic has no sway in the decision anyway. Even if I was a large EA shareholder, I wouldnt be posting in here.
Also, the best person for BW=/=best for EA
