Hope it's going well for you mate. It's been ages since I made a spirit healer, I'm curious to why you made a more passive build as opposed to an aggressive one, or you just felt like trying something new?
Just checked out your pdf, I think you've presented it really nicely!
Can you think of any tweaks you can make that'd help take it to the next level to battle efficiently at nightmare - maybe that should be your new challenge?

i'll try that in my next playthrough,
reason why my hawke have no agressive ability is because i wanted him to have healing aura up at all times to keep my party HP up since the cooldown on both heal spell is really long and also to support Merrill since she is immune to conventional healing.
i have gain 2 more lvl now, for my hawk i took 2 skill in force mage, they can all be used while spirit aura is active.
Really usefull for crowd control.
For merrill i improve skill in entropy,
for Aveline i improve some skill in sword and shield tree for stagger.
and varric got blindside and armistice from scourndell tree, help with damage and controlling aggro.
i think it is all set from now on, will only upgrade skill i already have, hawke will continue in the force mage tree since it is fun, usefull and can be use while spirit healer is active
merill will continue entropy, she already have enough dps spell so more debuff for tougher ennemy
varric will continue in scourndell for more support on the battlefield
and aveline will take more dps from upgrades in shield and sword

Hmm. So is it purely survivability you desired? Or did you just want a way of surviving/not dying - nobody likes that of course, but I was wondering because if it was the latter there are ways of staying alive and outputting some serious damage too. Read somewhere on here "the general consensus here is offense>defense in DA2" that's why I was asking.
However, if you just wanted a safe play-through in the first place by all means enjoy yourself.

in DAO i was playing full dps and a bit of CC because you always know whats your facing so you can plan and just kill things.
in DA2 i prefer more HP and survivability since you never know what your facing, mob pop from everywhere all the time and too much rogue that can 1 shot kill your mage if no buff on and no points in constitution, that's i prefer to add survivability in DA2 than in DAO
i do agree that aoe help a lot with all the ennemy spam, that's why i have some aoe capability with merill and the rain of arrow from varric

Hmm, you're right I see what ya mean.
Well you could utilize the arcane/spirit & force mage trees to get some good crowd control going. Should compliment your spirit healer quite abit.
