Um, they're two completely different types of games.
I highly doubt they're going to go In a completely different direction with the success of the current multi-player, and considering this was their first time developing a MP experience I feel It would be a waste to focus on something else after what they've now learnt.
They could use the knowledge they now have to refine the next games MP which I see as being similar to this.

Also I despise grinding =[

What the hell do you think ME3 MP is? The content is soooo dyanmic with such varied rewards that are not RNG cards in no way possible. What we do in ME3MP is the same **** people do in current end-game WoW

Specifically the grinding where It Is the same action repetitively.
ME3 you have the ability to change your class, race etc. much more easily than in an MMO.
Yes you can do this In an MMO too, but which MMO lets you readily switch between 60+ characters that you do not have to individually level.
ME3 does a better job of keeping things fresh.

If you argued that the enemies are animated and fleshed out enough that they are interesting in each encounter, I would have agreed with you

but these characters only have 3 abilities. Most of them are copy/pasted from other classes and only introduce one poorly animated/bugged action.

TERA and GW2 have much more in-depth classes that they dont need to add characters.

I think that it is ok that they are simpified - now I had a headache how to spec them out, if they have more abilities my mind would explode :P

MMO people are really REALLY fanatic! More than usual! A mass effect mmo would make these types of people reach critical mass!

I can see those comments on newbs, scrubs etc on BSN:crying:  I think it would fit well here;)

MMO is awful.
Lots of trolls and crazy people + money sucking store.

MMOs that claim to have changed into a f2p are mostly unplayable due to countless of restrictions and caps.

I'm mostly biased because of past experiences and my playstyle when It comes to MMO's.
I typically don't join guilds and play the game solo (unless a friend has bought the game) and stop playing at mid-level.
When It came to ME3 MP I found that the co-op and character selection were just the breath of fresh air that
I needed
In a multiplayer experience.
I can forgive the lack of powers on a character, It was the first MP seen developed for a Mass Effect game and the Montreal team had no prior experience (I think).
You can blame 3 Powers on either balance, Montreals lack of knowledge on developing a MP game, or us console users for our lack of available buttons.

Make mass effect a MMO = killing the franchise.

Everything that makes mass effect great is about enjoying a story and characters , no MMO has story or characters.

What I'd really like to see would be something along the lines of Guild Wars (1, not 2). You have multiplayer hubs where you can see everyone else who's logged on, but the action all takes place in instanced zones.

Oh wait, wasn't It confirmed somewhere that there are currently no plans for a Mass Effect MMO but It Is a possibility In the future?
Can anybody clarify?
I don't really feel like digging through the forums for a source. Twitter either.

It will not be. Sw:Tor was most likely a financial disaster. Ea wont make the same mistake again.

Recent EA products are financial disaster as well, so I don't know if it is an issue.

I don't see how this could possibly work out in any way, this could kill the franchise.

Phantasy star dances on the line between full blown MMO and casual Multiplayer.

Social HUB is the MMO
Missions make it a casual co-op only Multiplayer

I love how people have become deluded to the meaning of "Massively multiplayer online" and has tied so hard into the "Role-Playing game" genre.

Planetside and Firefall are two MMOShooter's that don't follow the usual MMO formula like WoW or evercrack.

I don't think it will happen. The problem with MMO's is that in order to make the game they have to sacrifice the overall quality of the game. The have to downgrade the graphics and controls to get it to work. Just look at the Elder Scrolls Online and compare it to Skyrim, it looks like a step backward.

While they may get it to work with Elder Scrolls Online for some people, since having an open world based game tends to blend with MMO styles better, but for Mass Effect which is much more linear in comparison will be very hard to convert and satisfy their fans.

However, It's not impossible seeing how shooter MMO's are starting to come out, but to meet quality expectations that I think Mass Effect players would have is not going to be happening anytime soon.

So from the look of those articles It seems the doctors would eventually have developed a Mass Effect MMO.
Truth be told I'd support It If they could break the mold of the current MMO formula, however with the Doctors leaving the company I have little faith In that.
I'd probably also be okay with the regular MMO style as long as they made the MMO as well as a Single Player game rather than instead of.

Since the Shepard's story is over and they say that it is not an end of
ME games, I just wonder as who we will be playing. As you said it will
be really hard to meet players expectations - and in my opinion it concerns MMORPG like as well as "normal" RPG.

Phantasy Star? Monster hunter? Any bells rung yet?.. no? I'm pretty sure Phantasy star continues it's legend to giving birth to MMO's on a console -- Sega brought a large-scale Co-op game to the PSVita.. and it's F2P.

People are being really closed minded about this. MMO =/= open world adventure

Imagine the citadel as a social HUB, where you and your crew (clan) prepare to board your own ship. You recieve a distress call about blood pack attacks on a turian colony (just an example). This distress call is also sent out to other squads to aid the call to arms. A large scale battle can occur(4-25, nothing absurd) outside of the colony fending off ruthless Bloodpack onslaughts and all they have to do is add a few extra maps and optimize the game on dedicated servers.

About the MMO,

Image IPB

But I would be up for more game modes. Deathmatch (if there could be class balancing), team deathmatch, infinite survival (more creds per wave survived), and that sort of thing.
