I thought about not inviting Jacob but that would have just been rude. I didn't romance him so he never did anything wrong to me. He's just one of those guy's who's nice enough but not fun to have around.

Interesting take. I have the complete opposite view. I'm not petty enough to intentionally avoid real-life people and would have invited everyone in reality. But in a "meta-realized" situation, no hard feelings are created by snubbing someone and I took it as an opportunity to see which characters I really appreciated (and which, not so much).
