I don't get how anyone could outright avoid an entire gamemode for over a year.

Unless it's Call of Duty. In which case you'll forget the campaign the next day anyway.

Edit: In any case, play the multiplayer. Play it a lot. You'll love it. And give Singularity a shot! It's now amazing.

Definitely not too late to start.

However, give up any kind of hope for getting a specific gun or character, let alone maxing them out, and god forbid you have an ultra-rare gun you are looking forward to. I haven't gotten any of the "new" UR guns in my past 60 PSP packs, and I've maxed out over half of the URs in the game already.

So really, unless you are in for the long haul, take what you get and enjoy it, and don't hope for anything in particular. Have fun with it, don't "try" to get things.

With 5 common guns, 11 uncommon guns, 25 rare guns, 21 ultra-rare guns, each with 10 upgrades, 41 total gun mods with 5 upgrades each, 36 gear with 5 upgrades each, and 65 characters with 4 to 5 upgrades a piece, not to mention packs that just don't give you anything, you have around 1350 unlockable items and subsequent upgrades. It will be a long journey.

It's not too late and if you happen to be on PS3 feel free to add me and I'll help ya get started. PSN in the sig.

Edit: Ah I saw that you are indeed on PS3 as I said I'd be happy to help if ya wanna add me.

Also, don't worry about grinding from the high level stuff right away, build up a good base of blue and silvers.
Gift packs have been given by Bioware at various times.
I agree with the person above below who said you've been missing out on the best part of ME3!

The only problem you may encounter starting now is HUGE amount of added content.

Most of us got workhorse weapons like GPS, Claymore, Widow, Carnifex, etc - very long ago. With all these new DLC stuff it's hard to unlock the things you want.

Good news are that default human classes got some strong buffs and are among the best kits available. The other thing is that there hasn't been any Uncommon weapon or character added, so it's easy to unlock original Turians (Sentinel is my favorite kit of all) and great weapons like Mattock, Viper and Eviscerator.

Player base is good and there's no problem finding the match/teammates.

It's not too late to start the game.

It's just daunting how much stuff you'll have to unlock.

Well, luckily one of my gift packs was kind and unlocked the Geth Juggernaut for me. I'm actually very excited to play this character.

I hope you play many more matches in the future.

Not every match is good... not every match is bad.... Some will be super laggy.. some will boot you with a 'disc is unreadable' then there are the ones chalked full of glitches... (upside down volus for the win) but all these variables can make for good variety. (IMO) These imperfections only allow a player to fully appreciate a match that isn't being screwy...

Seriously though, I've never played a game with this many bugs and also never played a game I enjoyed more despite them, so go figure.

Just started in December, myself; 1304 N7 and 4320 Challenge points in 280 hours of fun, mostly Bronze with some Silver. Only 2 Rares and 4 URs left to unlock (including, of course, the harrier and the Lancer... dammit). Goes by quicker than you think.

Get in the mix; GL&HF...

Spec for max durability and heavy melee when your shield goes down to restore it. Um, do you have a more specific question?

Not too late at all.
Actually you are in a better spot since you can get the excitement of unlocking new goodies and trying them out. You might even find tricks and tactics that most didn't think of because they're stuck in one mode only.

Is melee the main focus of a Geth Juggernaut?

Edit: Meaning, should I be roaming around looking to melee things or just doing so when I'm in trouble and focus on doing damage with guns the rest of the time?

Pick up as much health as possible first thing. Max out that tree for maximum shields.

The Siege Pulse has an upgrade at level 5 that gives you 10% damage reduction per stored pulse. The level 6 upgrade gives you a 4th pulse, for 40% DR +15% from your Fitness tree. This leaves you with a massive store of health and 55% DR, with the ability to health steal while meleeing enemies, not to mention disabling smaller targets while doing so.

You can add in the healing power of the geth turret to support you and heal you further, or to top of your shields when no enemies are in melee range.

He is slow, and doesn't use powers frequently, so heavy weapons work well.

No, but its the secret to their durability. They regain shields rather rapidly while heavy meleeing a target. The damage is somewhat weak, enough to take out most humanoid targets, but not really a boss killer. A skilled Juggy knows the melee for shields then switch back to DPS with a weapon. If you just melee all day, all of the enemies will cluster up because nothing is killing them and whittle you down, not to mention being able to shot from a distance. Adding melee bonuses can be nice sometimes, but not at the expense of something else. Most Juggy players who do nothing but heavy melee all day don't know how to survive in a pinch and contribute little more than being a meat shield. Not that meat shields aren't amazingly useful, but it makes a match go that much slower when one team-mate provides nothing but defense.

If you get a melee enhancing gear and you don't have anything better, go for it, but a shield booster/stronghold package will further enhance your absurd durability. Just remember; there is no such thing as invincible. Even a geth juggernaut with maxed shields, DR, a Cyclonic Modulator IV (gives a boost to shields for one mission) and Shield Boosting gear can die from stun lock, long range siege weaponry like Geth Primes and Ravagers, and can simply be unable to regen shields as fast as they are losing them.

At rank 5, should I pick Shield Recharge or Speed Boost?

If you've been kicked in the quads every other match, and you finally get into a match that isn't kicking them... yes, you are going to be grateful that your quads are intact; for once. XD

I personally take the Shield Recharge. The Speed Boost is pretty small, hardly enough to bring him in line with other characters, and only lasts for a short duration. Its not helping you at all if you can't REACH the enemy to melee them.
