We all had those games that we grew up with (unless you're like 59 and up). List these games and share your memories about the times you had with them.
Enjoy.

Everyone of those a frickin' master piece. Ohh the fond memories. There's just soo much about it I don't even know where to start to talk about.

Simple lists are boring.
Star Fox: I can't remember any specific events playing this, outside of the fact that it was the first video game I ever played.
Perfect Dark: The combat simulator was always fun. I used to love turning on the slow motion mode so I could pretend I was having a shootout as if I was in the Matrix.
GTA II, III, & Vice City: I remember having cop chase contests with my brother and cousins with these. We used to compete to see who could last the longest on the max wanted level. Good times...
NBA 2K: I remember having mini-playoffs set up to see who was the best out of me, my brother, and my cousins. The fun was amplified when we made a team full of created players that were better than Michael Jordan.
Jet Grind Radio: I used to listen to the music in this game for hours. The Improvise track, Humming the Bassline, and Rock It On were and still are my favorite tracks on that game.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater: Another game that I spent way too much time in slow motion in. I still remember the Dreamcast version of the slo-mo code.
Sonic The Hedgehog 2: Once me and my brother found out about the codes for this all we ever wanted to do was turn into Super Sonic. Invincibility never seemed so awesome before I played this game.

Ace Combat 2 was a really big game for me when I was young, soundtracks like this and this stuck with me to this day. Somehow I could never get into the new ones. My Dad got me Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation for the Xbox 360 somewhat recently, and I couldn't stand either of the controls no matter how long I tried to play it. :c

Phantasy Star IV...My first RPG that led me to love the genre to this day
Warcraft II...I actually first played this on PS1 and was addicted.
Doom & Final Doom on PS1...Such nostalgia when I still play this game. The soundtrack is amazing on this version.
Wolfenstein 3D...The OG FPS and paved the way for...well every FPS ever created.
Xenogears...Wonderful game
FF7...Speaks for itself

Warning: This rambling may not be in chronological order.
My first computer was an IBM Aptiva. The first games I remember playing were mostly DOS games given to me by my uncle (in 3.5 floppy disks), such as "Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?", "Where in time is Carmen Sandiego?", "Secret Agent," "Volfied," "Ark32," etc. I did not own a console so I usually played Super Nintendo games at a friend's. I don't remember a whole lot about these games except there was a lot of Mario involved and maybe some Star Fox thrown in for variety's sake.
Along with the Aptiva came a few games in cd-rom. Amongst them were "Cyberia," "Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure" and "Silent Steel." Needless to say, I played them all. Since I was a fan of Star Wars, my dad bought me my first SW game, "Rebel Assault II." This, coupled with me playing "Shadows of the Empire" on a N64, sold me on getting my hands on every SW game I could find. Throughout the years I'd acquire a few titles, such as "X-Wing," "Tie-Fighter," "X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter," "X-Wing Alliance," "Dark Forces," "Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight"... oh, you get the point, my collection of SW games is pretty impressive if I do say so myself. Another LucasArts' title worthy of mention is "The Dig" (I still have the box and everything in pristine condition!).
While playing even more games on my friends' N64 I went through my Zelda phase. I would go on to buy a gameboy color in order to play "Link's Awakening," "Oracle of Ages," and "Oracle of Seasons." Another game that had my full and undivided attention at the time was "Goldeneye." I remember staying up all night playing that game.
I also went through a "Need For Speed" phase, a "Mortal Kombat" phase, an "Age of Empires" phase, and a GTA2 phase (yes, that one game constitutes a phase on its own right). Naturally, there was some football mixed in between with titles such as "PC Calcio 5.0" and "Fifa 97." I played a few odd titles, such as "Hercules," "Toy Story," "Caesar II," "Theme Hospital," and a few strategy games such as "Lords of Magic."
I was first introduced to the world of RPGs with the title, "Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura." It pretty much sold me on role-playing games and I went on to play "Temple of Elemental Evil" and "Neverwinter Knights 2," but Arcanum still remains number one in my heart.
I think it must've been through Star Wars that I learned about Bioware. I was an avid fan of Kyle Katarn and the "Jedi Outcast" series and when I learned a new SW game was being released that took place in the days of TOTJ... well, I simply had to play it. After that I was on the alert for more Bioware and SW games, though the name Bioware mostly disappeared into the blur that was LucasArts. I played both Battlefronts, Republic Commando, KOTOR II.
Mass Effect was a title I'd seen on display for a while at the time but I had politely ignored it for some reason that escapes me now. Eventually I gave up and decided to give it a shot. So, yeah, that happened. That was the game that really brought the name "Bioware" to the forefront in my mind. It also helped that my interest in SW dwindled seeing as there were no further sequels on the horizon to BF, RC, KOTOR, or even Katarn's Jedi outcast. I caught up on an old Bioware title, "Jade Empire," and eagerly awaited for more. Sadly, JE2 was not announced, but while LucasArts tried a last ditch effort with TFU I learned of Dragon Age.
The rest is relatively recent history.
PS: I have played so many more games that I simply can't remember. TFU I played on my PS2, along with other titles such as Splinter Cell, Winning Eleven, The Third Age (amazing game!), Two Towers, Return of the King, etc. I'm not entirely sure where I found the time to play them all but I'm proud to say my studies didn't suffer... much.

My first game was Wonderboy for the Sega Master System. Forget your intricate plots, this was good ol' "crack open eggs, get skateboards" kinda gaming. And that tasty 8-bit boss round music...
We also had My Hero, one of the budget/card games for the system. Despite it being terrible, I remember playing it almost daily, I had those three levels memorized.
Then came the NES, and with it came the hair-pullingly cheap Amagon. I got pretty far as a kid, but the buggy invisible enemies and one-hit kills got me every time.
I also had a love/hate relationship with Uninvited, Shadowgate and Maniac Mansion. Uninvited had some of the most terrifying music and death/game over descriptions I'd ever seen as a wee child, and they did cause me many a sleepless night. Now however, I love this stuff. Well, not the death theme, that's still hell on the ears.
As I got older, I got into Shining Force for the Sega Genesis and absolutely fell in love with the tactical RPG genre. It remains my favorite genre to this day, thus my screen name, a nod to an enemy in Gladius, a tactical RPG everyone should play because I said so.
At around the same time as Shining Force, Secret of Mana came out, and I'm quite sure I've logged more hours into that game than any other. I'd play it, beat it, and instantly start it again. I even had a little 'strategy guide' I'd made complete with horrible drawings of the monsters and equipment drops and whatnot. I spent what must have been hundreds of hours looking for an item of equipment that the manual lists (Ruby Armet) that doesn't actually exist in the game. What fun that was.
