At this point the relationship we all had with Weekend operation is over... I know it's difficult to accept, and some communication would make things easier, but we all need to accept that it's over, and she's just going to continue to not have, "The Talk" with us and just continue to string us all along, I like to believe as to not hurt us.

We're on our own now, we'll get through it.

From "google maps/ bird eye" ....

1. Bioware's parking lot is empty.
2. Somebody forgot to call the cleaning - the table is still full of beer bottles from the last party.
3. There is a note on a desk - "Gone to Boston".....

So, there is nobody there to make any announcements.

I really hope they continue to support the game in the form of weekly challenges and balances. There are some games that are still supported by their softwarehouse, like Gran Turismo 5 on PS3, they're putting seasonal events every week since february 2011 and the playerbase remains active also thanks to this support. Please, don't let the MP die.

Did you guys all just keep playing because of the weekend ops?

Did "earn 50000 points killing banshees" and earn a single weapon upgrade every week or two really keep you all playing for 12 months?

Assuming staff from Bioware are at PAX, and announcements have historically taken a long time to be released (looking at you EA) I'm guessing the decision is just slogging it's way through the hierarchy.

I see you've never visited the talk pages on Wikipedia. Of the Television Without Pity forums.  Or the comments on every newspaper website ever.  In comparison, the SP forums are more of an ingrown toenail.

I hope they continue. Commendation packs could include medigels, missile launcher etc. The weekend ops were always a lot of fun.

In all fairness, a year more of uptime seems almost unlikely with EA's more recent track record. But I'm being cynical. The servers will likely be up, even if in a year the ops are for sure canceled.

Seeing the title of last banner "Final challenge" I say they have ended weekend operations for good or they have no clear plans ATM for future of MP. Things have gone little out of control with EA CEO resignation and PAX so close.

This is a good idea, absolute minimal effort for BioWare, they have a whole year's worth available now.

Alternatively turn it over to the community, so a trusted group of responsible BSNers can come up with a challenge and submit the conditions each week which are automatically applied (or manually added by someone in BioWare), based closely on the existing game data challenges.

Some challenges are broken though and don't get applied (N7HQ never applied my badge for Operation Impact - extract with one reckoning character - or gave me the commendation pack, despite it being the easiest challenge to complete, ever). As many BioWare resources have obviously been pulled from this game (to work on other projects) the community will just have to accept that from time to time some unlucky players will not be getting their challenges.
