So, I'd really love to use the toolset program, but it seems everything I try with bioware needs for me to do the fixing myself. Love the game and all, but I rather not waste 2-4 hours making a DLC or a toolset to work. (with little success) :<
Basically, I have the whole "Unable to connect to database" bug, but as the guides tell me to look into my
"Dragon Age\\toolssql\\Data" folder, well there is no toolssql folder. :/ I am running as an adminstrator, and there appears to be no "hidden folders" or anything. I installed the toolset from the offical website, three times now, and none of them has the toolssql file. I have the same problem on another computer.
What might be important is, both computers are vista, and vista sometimes has some...Unnecessary protection stuff that might make some things difficult. So, if anyone would be willing to help me find the said folder, so I could waste another 2-4 hours fixing the actual database bug.
But seriously I'll be thankful for any help you can give me.
No toolssql directory found

Which guides? Some of the stuff on the wiki refers to the beta toolset and hasn't been updated so could refer to differently named folders. The place you should find that folder is [Dragon Age install]\\tools\\toolssql\\Data. However it might be [Dragon Age install]\\tools\\toolssql\\MSSQL.1\\MSSQL that you really want as the Data folder is empty on my machine.

Sorry for answering so late. Thanks for the response. Well, with the guide I meant this one:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Go to DOS and write:
"sqlcmd -S .\\\\\\\\BWDATOOLSET -E -Q "RESTORE DATABASE bw_dragonage_content FROM DISK = 'C:\\\\\\\\Program Files\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Dragon Age\\\\\\\\tools\\\\\\\\dbbak\\\\\\\\bw_dragonage_content.bak' WITH MOVE 'bw_dragonage_content' TO 'C:\\\\\\\\Program Files\\\\\\\\Dragon Age\\\\\\\\tools\\\\\\\\toolssql\\\\\\\\Data\\\\\\\\bw_dragonage_content.mdf', MOVE 'bw_dragonage_content_Log' TO 'C:\\\\\\\\Program Files\\\\\\\\Dragon Age\\\\\\\\tools\\\\\\\\toolssql\\\\\\\\Data\\\\\\\\bw_dragonage_content.ldf'""
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Haven't bothered to try it, as I don't have the toolsqql. Also, I tried searching my whole computer, there were absolutely no "toolssql" folders/anything anywhere. :<
Might need to give up with the toolkit, could have been fun.

In your [dragon age install]\\\\tools folder, which subdirectories do you have? This might give some idea as to what is going on with your install. Also, are you using 64 bit or 32 bit vista?
And have you tried looking at the troubleshooting guide?

I have the same problem, on XP. Subdirectories are: DatabaseUtilities, dbbak, docs, export_processors, FaceFX, FMOD Designer, lightmapper, plugins, ResourceBuild, scripttemplates, Source, sqlexpr, ssce.
I also had an error during install. I had a command line window sitting idle for like 5 minutes and nothing was happening, so I closed it. Installation looked complete otherwise, and then it said that the uninstaller failed to install.
I wonder if this has anything to do with the .net problem as in this thread: http://social.biowar.../index/428801/1 I have .net installed, do you Razhathael?

Same error, there is no /toolssql file when installing...
The troubleshooting guide is a load of bollocks.

sounds like old information. the SQL folder has been moved in toolset 1.1 it wa sin that location in 1.0 but it has been moved to decrease the path name length which caused some issues with steam IRCC. it's now in the program files directory. ie.same folder as the dragonage folder is.
so C:\\Program Files (x86)\\DAODB for 64 bit
and C:\\Program Files\\DAODB for 32 bit
so C:\\Program Files (x86)\\DAODB for 64 bit
and C:\\Program Files\\DAODB for 32 bit

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! CID!!! I've been struggling with this problem for hours, uninstalling, rewriting restore scripts, hacking into the bios ...*sob* and finally ...*cue the angelic harps* ...it works!
Process that worked for me:
Database backup instructions
http://social.biowar...kup_and_restore
Change the first 2 lines in the notepad cut/paste example to:
SET SOURCE=C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Dragon Age\\tools\\dbbak
SET TARGET=C:\\Program Files (x86)\\DAODB\\MSSQL.1\\MSSQL\\Data
I also had to go into Configure Toolset and change add (x86) to all the program files:
http://social.biowar...gureToolset.exe
Hopefully this helps other geek challenged folks.
