I think whether or not Shepard and Liara ever have children is best left to head canon.

No. It would be too long after the story. We'd be talking about 100-150 years.

Major roles in two games, one exclusive DLC, two comics and an overly sexualised statue...I think that's enough of Liara in the MEU.

If anything, the next ME (if it takes place after ME3) should have Grunt's offspring instead. The kid will even have his dad's little menacing laugh.

Its not about Liara, its about a MYSTERIOUS MASKED Unamed Character! who accompanies the Hero.

her story would just be a side line to the Main Plot.

Her being the liara's mysterious daughter is just a side note of the story.

Her story might not even be told on the First episode of this New Mass Effect!

And
i'm not saying that she is the only offspring of the heroes from the
reaper war. this child might even meet grunt or his kin!

And i'm not saying that she'd have any major roles to play.

So it wont be a repeat of Liara/Asari taking most of the show. The Opposite it is for this character. Again the character would be a Silent Crew Member. would be found below deck/ like a one man island. And like ME1 will only give tactical appraisal. will never talk with anything personal. the only few words you'd ever get is Yes and No. Plus the voice would have a digital blur again to hide any indication of gender.

Scenario: You'd find the character on the lowest deck of the ship. In the darkest corner sharpening her combat knife!
the only sound you'd hear as you approach is the grating of the blade. with only a dark silouhette to see.

As you converse with the character in the darkness. as the character starts to talk, two red glowing eyes appear.  when finished talking the red eyes disappear. all the while you can never see the face.

i would imagine a dim light blub inside a skull swing atop. as the only light source in the room. not even enough light to see what your stepping on.

the character conveys this image of Fear. note: that she is tall. the commander would only be shoulder high.
would be such an imposing sight to see.

And most of the crew would always be creeped out by her attitude. like suddenly appearing behind without making a sound.:bandit:

but seriously though! No comment on her shadowy character or is too overly dramatic with the darkness and all?

Again she may not be shepards daughter. This character can exist regardless if shepard romanced liara or not.

I think that it would be interesting to have a character like this, but look at all the negative comments you have been getting on this thread.  It would probably be better if Liara's child was a side character (kind of like how Wrex was a squadmate in ME1 and was a side character in ME2) and you could do a mission for her or something like that.  There might not be as much negativity about it then.

If Mass Effect 4 is a sequel and is set within 900 years or so of Mass Effect 3, I think it would be better to have Liara herself return in a cameo, than to introduce a character that is potentially her child.

Likewise for Grunt, since his offspring was also mentioned in the thread. Krogan can live even longer than the Asari so long as their lives aren't cut short by violence. If the game is set during an era where Grunt is still alive, it would be better to have a Grunt cameo than to introduce a new character that is his son or daughter.

I think that it would be great to have Grunt make a cameo so we can see how he matured after ME3 (+1, if Wrex was alive and was able to "raise" Grunt.  Not so much if Wrex is dead).

How about we let the old crew go and move on I dont want camo of anyone I wouldn't hate the game but i would hate the Character how come I see Liara when i wanted to see Garrus uh no and even if this child isn't Shepards kid it's Liara's kid and i want anything to do with Liara I don't care how long Asari live. We have enough Liara content to get even more when no one else is getting content not even Shepard again no.

If people want something in the new ME that was in the old ME then do what Bioshock did

For example the new protagonist might go to the plant that has Normandy memorial Crash Site no need for camos of two or three Characters (or anything related to them) from the old game what if the player wanted to see someone else like i stated above i want to see Garrus not Liara or her kid

The thread is not saying that you only get too see liara's child. If it were up to me I would certainly like to see Garrus or his Kin in the next ME4. this is just a bit of connection to liara and Certainly NOT denying other LI's or in your case Garrus. Maybe someone else can make a Garrus connection to the next ME.

But did you manage to read page1? So any other comments?

If the game is a sequel and set during a period where Garrus would still be alive, than of course he should make a cameo.

The reasons why I only listed Liara and Grunt is that they can both live for up to a thousand years or more, and both were very young by their species' standards. Other than EDI, who is potentially immortal unless Destroy was chosen, they are your two longest lived squadmates. Even if Mass Effect 4 were set 800 years after Mass Effect 3, Liara and Grunt would likely still be alive as well. The rest of the cast however would be long dead.

I got what you meant; it's just that Liara's plastered all over the ME franchise. I feel that her offspring being there is a tad bit cliche (and ME has enought of that already). I'm all for creepy and mysterious characters sharpening knives and whatnot, but if I'm playing the game and along the way it's reveal that this character is indeed Liara's offspring then I might just throw my controller at the screen - even though I play on PC .

Besides, I'd rather have your description of a character as a krogan. Or maybe even an elcor. Now wouldn't that be fun?

thanks for the comments did you managge to read page 1?

like i was saying the character would be opposite to liara. and WONT be an in your face always. the character wont even be revealed to be an asari till like episode 2. so likely you wont even romance her in episode 1.

Liara was one of the few romance that talked about having children. So again just a few reason why im expanding on that topic.:D

The reason being that having children would be impractical for many of the romances.  Here's the romances where having children is impractical and the reasons why:

Garrus/FemShep: Turian and Human biology are not compatible in this way.  Turians are Dextros while Humans are Levos.  Turians are more likely to have children with Quarians (hence "Fleet and the Flotilla" and Garrus/Tali romance if you don't romance either of them).

Tali/MaleShep: Same reasoning as with Garrus/FemShep romance (unfortunately for Talimancers like myself Posted Image).

Miranda/MaleShep: Miranda is sterile because of her genetic tailoring so she cannot have children.

Traynor/FemShep: Obvious reasons.

Cortez/MaleShep: Ditto.

Allers/FemShep: Same, though I doubt many have even tried to romance her to begin with.

Kaidan/MaleShep: Again, same.

Thane/FemShep: Drell and Human physiology are not compatible.  Mainly because Drell are reptillian and Humans are mammals.

Jacob/FemShep: Stops after ME2 and Jacob ends up having a kid with Brynn.  If it did happen, well... you get the picture.

Plus, most of the FemShep romances (barring Liara cause she is an Asari) end up being null and void in three of the four ends and unlikely (IMO) in the forth.

I suppose you already know this though so you don't need to reply.

Yes i took genetics to account for having a child, but i had also incoulded the ending choices whether shep was alive or not. 2 out of the 3 endings shep is dead.

male shep +romance ashley, kelly, jack, allers maybe miranda may still bear a child even if shep died. bec possible encounter before the beam run. (miranda maybe a longshot but still possible).

but if fem shep dies almost no possibility for obvious reasons.

except for the one way out; relationship with any of the asari crew.
