Have the character be Shepard's child if you ended with a romance that could result in it actually being Shepard biological child (human or Asari), or an adopted child of whatever race you want (Shepard and Tali decided to adopt one of Wrex's kids if you choose that for example, or Shepard and Garrus adopt a Turian orphan when he/she was a small child). This way, favorites aren't being played and you can still have a connection to Shepard. It would also let you play as whatever race you want because Shepard and their LI could adopt a kid of a bunch of different races and it still work.

Great idea and if Mass Effect 4 was based on Shepard and Liara's child it would just tick off all those who had other LI's and give Liara haters an even bigger reason to hate her character.

But I'm half expecting this to happen. Bioware has a weird obsession with Liara being the focus of attention. Hell, when she gave me her 'gift' before the final run, I'm fairly certain she got herself pregnant with my Shep.

I feel violated.

And that makes other people like me unhappy, its better with no canon LI. Otherwise whats the point in the other Li's?

I chopped off Leliana's head in an Origins Playthrough. That didn't stop her coming back in DA2.

Yes.  And that's why she's easily the most hated of all the "popular" characters. 

I wouldn't agree with that statement. I find Ashley is hated way more.


I should also state before people start hating on me that Miranda is my favorite LI, but Liara is my canon one because the story pushes you that way.

Agreed there is no canon LI.

As a non-LI in my playthroughs at most Liara is a concerned friend or a crazy stalker like Rose from Two and A Half Men.

A Unique thing about this concept character  though is that Liara'schild can exist regardless if you chose her as your li or not.:innocent:
