Not going to read spoilers yet, but this sounds pretty ominous. Ah well, maybe my "must-play" list needed some whittling down anyway.

The original Bioshock's ending was woeful too. As was Fallout 3, Metal Gear Solid 2 and a host of bad 90s adventure games kept alive only through the medium of Let's Play. Mass Effect 3 really is the thin end of the wedge as far as bad endings go.

Truth be told, if this is true (haven't read yet due to spoilers) it's a massive pity. I've been looking forward to this game for a while.

No guys....it is not that the ending itself is a downer...it's that it makes the catalyst as a character and its  logic look just peachy in comparison

I'd invest in SpamBot2000's.. they're selling like hot cakes..

tbh it really depends on the execution of those plot details, if you wrote down all the plot points of Inception it would sound stupid, yet Nolan made a good film out of it. It all depends on the writing and execution.

I haven't played any of the Bioshock games but with this quote from the designer :

"The end of the game.... It's like nothing you've actually experienced in a video game before"

Now, where have I heard something like that before? Looks like Bioshock Infinte may be a contender to Mass Effect 3 after all.

Okay, I read the link, and yeah, that does sound pretty bad.

BUT... that game isn't even out yet. Did someone get hold of a preview copy (without being held up by an NDA), is it an unhappy developer, or is it someone making it up? (I mean, yes the game does have elements of time-travel and universe hopping, centralized on Elizabeth, but the rest could just be someone's cry for attention...) Basically, I just want to know where the source got their info...

overall I think ME's ending pretty good, in comparison to other 'gamey' endings. They sure weren't predictable and the fan feed back went through the roof. All good, even though combative at times. In my estimation there is a trend for only two finalities in the ME endgame, so far so good, Lolz

yeah, I gave into that link as well, but only scanned it, didn't take it to heart.. but still am of the impression that it's kind of hyped and overly expensive for a VG. It's precursers were seemingly out there, I liked the first one OK, but only for the laughs, the second..never finished it..the third.. meh.

Well I have no problem with most game endings personally, it's just that I always here about how this game ending sucks, and this game ending sucks, beginning to wonder what constitutes a good ending for some
