All of you are the reason why mindless shooters are so popular. With your childishness and vitriol, it's simply safer to make a non-story-driven game because there are no idiots to cry over endings they either don't understand or didn't like.

yeeeeep totally...

Also, people understood ME3's ending well enough, they just disliked it intensely, so much that Bioware had to retcon some of it in spite of previous statements.

But it's ok man...YOU are part of the enlightened few, be proud of it, we will keep giving money to developers who make games we LIKE and if that involves clarity then  all the better

can you not read???

If I could not read, why would I be here?Or can this be obtained in Braille? Where in the thread title does it mention any other game spoilers or no?!
And just as an aside..........why the rudeness???

Review embargoes make no sense. If your game's good, you should have nothing to fear.

I don't mind some of it, but in this interview the dev is making claims that seem eerily familiar. If I ever get this game it will be used. The only good thing seems to me to be that there's no MP-I like MP in some games but not when it takes focus from the SP game.

The only thing I can think of when they are using the word open to speculation for a game is that the game isnt done & sold unfinished

rhetorical question flew over your head? The first post says clearly "Bioshock infinite spoilers" why would you read any further if you do not want to be spoiled?

I don't see the problem here. As one of the posters on the linked page says, it's just some timey-wimey stuff. Of course, I ain't a huge Bioshock fan in the first place.

Well, will have to see after a price drop then. Problem is, the whole setting would have been complete and cool without all this extraneous fluff. I for one was excited about an alt. history examination of American nationalist themes.

Hope the mods lock this thread. OP posts a link, obviously since he doesn't want to spoil, and retards come around and take quotes from that link and directly posts it here. Gotta clap.

Exactly.  It brings to mind a discussion I had with someone on why they even "went there" in all their hype in the first place.  In essence if you look at all that happened they are totally to blame for it.

Bioware in their hubris gave countless pre-release interviews discussing ME3's endings.  Why?  Why even discuss it at all?  This opened them up to all the criticism that came later on-still would have been complaints, I've no doubt but they created a focus on the ending and said it basically would be everything anyone could possibly wish for.  This could never be realized and so they set up an impossibility and then went about proving it was impossible, in game and out.

They used the word speculation and later on ambiguity as if they had some awesome meaning and were shields to hide behind to give the game some intellectual credibility.  It backfired badly.  ME was a series of games that was never too sly about being related to current events-abortion, god, racism, and so on were in the game and it was obvious.  If you create a game with obviousness then you don't end it in speculation.  Or what is then obvious is you didn't finish it and want people to imagine that ending you promised.

Person browses through various pages of a topic which clearly states in the OP that it is about BioShock spoilers, then gets mad about spoilers...

"Complaining about complaints is unproductive."

--Ninja Stan

He's not wrong, but what else can we do when they're slow to close dumb threads and refuse to ban the same trolls who regurgitate pointless "ME3's ending sucked and my opinion is fact" rhetoric over a year later?  Why are BioWare fans marginalized on the BioWare forums?

I'm not going to shy away from my statements.  Complaining about the ME3 endings a year later is dumb.  Misusing phrases like "plot hole" and "jump the shark" is ignorant at best.  Complaining about the BioShock ending on the Mass Effect forums is dumb.

Complaining about complaining isn't productive, but it sure as hell isn't as idiotic as complaining about the ending to a piece of fiction.  Culpability begins somewhere, and in this case, it's with you.

Give it a month or so.
By then it'll be in the Bargain Bin for $30 or so, maybe less.

Then, if the itch to buy another shooter is still there, pick it up for lolz.

A reasonable suspicion in the case of strictly embargoed pre-release information.

Exactly.

Not exactly. Speculation is perfectly fine if you're telling a story conducive towards it.
