Thats only bc my host consistently has less than 10ms ping... because i pay way too much for it.

Slayer sucks as off host unless you want to just use biotic slash, a lot of other vangurds are better off just using powers that can be cast long range (that don't chew your shield), or use grenades and can use biotic charge more defensively.

Bah, I hate having missed this thread when it was still fun.

On topic, it's not about a learning curve, plz it doesn't take rocket science to play him right, he simply sucks off host and I never host, so I never use him. Same reason I rarely play any vanguard actually, stupid off host issues.

I still play him, tho not as much...i catch alot of heat for not having PD on him ( i can't hit anything with it) but he has incredible survivability and i always take him to gold and plat matches where i can either come 1st or 2nd (gold)....2nd -3rd (plat)....(well the very few times i've played plat anyway)
People scream about his Biotic Slash....it's his power, why shouldn't folks use it?........i don't spam it every 5 seconds, but it takes out lesser enemies like bowling pins and shreds health off of bosses and i've solo'd and escaped death by passing thru walls while everybody else is getting sync-killed or waxed by praetorians or primes...he's a decent character.

I think an even lesser played Vanguard is the phoenix and he's one of my fav's..that's who i've been running with for the past few months. The slayer and the phoenix are my "go to" guys when i want to get the job done and they're also my fav characters...

I know, 

but it still is just as potent if not more than the other vanguards on host.

Slayer is the best vanguard IMO, but I always struggle against big stuff with it.

Would use if I could actually host. Whenever I played him off-host, Phase Disruptor had a wonky feeling of firing with delay.
