Get over it. The DLC will be out and ready once it's ready and fixed. It's seriously not that big of a deal. If you have nothing better to do than come to a internet message board over five dollar game content then maybe you need to go outside or socialize with real people instead of nerd raging on a silly video game message board.
If it angers you so much, don't read it.
Oh it doesn't make me angry at all. To be quite honest it makes me quite sad. People need to realize that unexpected **** happens when releasing patches, updates, or extra content. Going completely rage-mode over something as trivial as this (when there are more dire things going on in the world now) is just plain silly and I honestly feel a great swell of pity for those that are making such a big deal over an error with an update and the lack of five dollar content.
Again..you should probably go outside or socialize instead.
I have quite a bit of patience, but this whole thing turned into a huge mess. Its an hour long DLC, how will thier "2 years of DLC content" play out?
And don't use that "everyone who is not on my side is living in their mothers basement" @#$%, its older than sin.

In the terms I set out in my OP, it was buy RtO and receive a discount on the next DLC.
That's hardly asking for something for free. Bioware/EA is receiving business intel, shaping consumer approval, and raising the odds of more money coming their way. NCIX sent me a bunch of points that I can redeem for real products because they kept me waiting for more than 1 hour for a return call. I didn't ask for it but I was very surprised and happy to receive them and it definitely gives me an incentive to continue shopping with them. Dell gave us a 25% corporate discount because our CSR was unprofessional and screwed up and delayed an order. It's very common CS practice to try and make your customer (you know, those silly people that keep you in business) happy with their service quality.
All I'm asking for is simple customer service. If you think that's the pinnacle of self-entitlement you've apparently never eaten out at restaurant.
I don't agree with what bussinesses do. You mention restaurants...it's appauling how many people take advantage of these kinds of situations. I see it every time I go out, and it just disgust me how greedy people are. For example, when I have gone to Chipotle, I ask for my burrito, and I take it as is. That is what I am paying for...that is the product they are offering me, if I don't want it or don't like it, I will take my bussiness elsewhere. Yet every time I go in...people are like, "no more rice...more meat....put more more more" why? Why do they owe them more? They walked in, saw the menu with the listed price, that's what they get.
Just last week I was out to eat, and I guess the guy across from me asked for no pickles on his burger. It came out with pickles on it, and instead of just taking them off...he threw a fit, and ended up getting his meal taken care of. Yet I didn't ask for any discounts, even though he ruined my lunch experience. When companies "give in", guess what happens...people want more. People know if they complain enough, a bussiness will just give in. I say kudos to companies that don't...you don't need that kind of bussiness anyway, let them complain and whine.
If Bioware or EA gave us some kind of discount, guess what happens next time there's a delay...people will want more. Dragon Age got delayed several times...I guess they should have just given away the game to make it up to us.
At the end of the day it comes down to one thing...either buy it or don't. If you don't feel the DLC is worth your 5 dollars, then don't buy it...that's the best way to tell Bioware/EA how you feel about their product and service.

Otherwise, this was a terrible example.....but least your mind adapted enough to leave the thread.
To the main point of the thread...l dont need a reward, thou if Bioware felt like they wanted to award us, l wouldnt knock it.
For now, l just take a fully working DLC and a set timeline without it being yanked away again and again.

Honestly, I really think the DLC crew were screwed by miscommunication, too. All of life is a comedy of errors. I don't for one minute think that they are at fault for this FUBAR situation.
I just don't like being told that I'm a whinging, ungrateful person for suggesting that the situation could have been handled differently and for not enjoying the wonderful experience that's been specially prepared for me, even if its a bit crispy on the edges and a mite maggoty. And since it was ONLY five bucks, how could I possibly expect premium quality???
Funny, since the two points I responded to were: What could they have done differently and how did this affect my enjoyment of the game I paid for. Nuff said.

When I go out to a burger place that advertises "have it your way", I expect to get my burger "my way". If I do not recieve what they promised, I go and ask them to fix the mistake. It is well within reason to do so.

I don't think BIoware would necessarily agree with being likened to fast food joints. "Here's some junk food, buy it or don't, NEXT." But hey, if someone from Bioware/EA will officially start planting that in their press releases, I will gladly STFU and go away.
If Bioware or EA gave us some kind of discount, guess what happens next time there's a delay...people will want more. Dragon Age got delayed several times...I guess they should have just given away the game to make it up to us.
Again, it's not about the delay, it's about how they *handled* the delay and all the other facepalm moments that came up around the release/not release of RtO.
And the entire point of my proposal is not to set out a way for Bioware/EA to make up for the delay. It is to provide a way of saying "our bad with this RtO thing, here's a bone, won't happen again... hey buy this new shiney thing!" I think everyone's learned a lesson in how to manage a release announcements by now. I don't expect the same kind of flubs to happen again in the future.
At the end of the day it comes down to one thing...either buy it or don't. If you don't feel the DLC is worth your 5 dollars, then don't buy it...that's the best way to tell Bioware/EA how you feel about their product and service.

This thread really wreaks of that (above) perspective. I totally get throwing in your two cents, or in this case contributing your entire life's earnings (for a certain few someones *cough* *cough*). But seriously, you're playing Armchair Executive here.
Let's keep a few things in mind ...
- Bioware is Big Business (read: EA)
- EA, and the EA Partner Network is a massive Buearacracy. Meaning ... one guys reports to the guy above him, who reports to the guy above him, and so on, and so forth.
- Their [BW] goal is to make quality games, and satisfy their Partner agreement with EA which is to make profitable releases [$$$].
- They have many, many managers and executives who make their living trying to sort out customer loyalty, repeat business, quality control, and all that other fun stuff. They are professionals.
- Problems like this are MUCH more complicated, and have SO many dynamic business factors that for the casual gamer to chime in with "customer service policies" and "effective sales strategies" is really, almost completely useless because their perspective is so far removed from the actual reality of the business.
It's when the feedback enters into the realm of business-coaching that it could come across as slightly offensive. Happens all the time in all walks of life, and this perspective is often times lost on the masses: You are far, far removed from the realities and complexities of the business.
If you approached the scenario with the humbled perspective that you are the consumer, instead of "hey, here is some good business advice for you. I recommend you take notes" then I'm inclined to think that you're effect will be greater in the end.
Just my four-cents ... Let the flaming begin [!]
Be peaceful on your way,
