There's a lot of back and forth going on, which is great as I think this is a great topic to debate, but I think that not an incredible amount of progress is being made. I'm hoping we can try and summarize the situation a little better so that we can find some common ground.
From what I can gather, the major points of contention are:Please feel free to let me know if I am missing anything here.
- The many delays that RtO has suffered from.
- The fact that Bioware has made several release announcements, only to go back on them.
- The lack of information regarding the "why" of these delays.
- The poor flow of information stemming from the "release issues" that arose yesterday.
- The fact that Bioware has not been forthcoming with information since then.
- That it would be a good will gesture to the community for Bioware to offer "something".
The counter points being made (that I have been a part of) have been the following:I think we have agreed that:
- The fact that as the product has not yet been released, consumers remain unaffected.
- That as we have not paid for this content as of yet, that we are not entitled to compensation.
- That while communication has been poor, the team still deserves the benefit of the doubt.
- The fact of the matter is that delays can and will happen, and the team needs leeway to correct the problems.
- That for the PC and PS3 users, they have not experienced any problems relating to this issue.
Please let me know if I have made any errors or omitted any facts.
- 360 users whose game has been affected by the patch/DLC should be compensated.
- That the Bioware community should learn from this and attempt to fix/avoid these issues in the future.

I have it for the 360 and the problem is somewhat severe, but I don't expect or even want compensation. I just want to know that is being fixed as soon as possible, and that its not going to be ignored for a month.halfempty77 wrote...

Last I heard it was the title update that screwed up our games. That's Bioware's fault if so, not Microsoft's.
EDIT: And I agree with What a Twist. I just want the problem fixed. No extra compensation required. Just fix what they broke.

I once went on a journey of enlightenment when i was much younger. I travelled to China and Tibet, and while I was there i went up one of the many duey mist covered mountains to a sacred temple that had for thousands of years been a place of worship for the local monks...
After 3 gruelling hours I finally made it to the temple ruins, took of my boots (as a mark of respect you see) and proceeded into and through the old temple. Once I had made my way through, I saw some smoke coming from atop a nearby outcrop of the mountain. I slowly and carefully made my way to where the smoke was originating from and upon getting to the clearing at the top, was met by the face of a wisened and old monk smoking...
He beckoned for me to come over and sit beside him, which I did, he withdrew his home made pipe and said in avery wheezy faint voice..
"You seek enlightenment my child yes?", Naturally I replied yes, trying to conceal my excitement..
You know what the old bastard said?
"The Customer is ALWAYS right"......
OHO...newp they aren't..and thank goodness for that.
You do realize, you work for customer service and you say that...you get fired right? Nevermind...not going to even get into this with you. Mav, go on ahead...have fun...I need Aleve again.
Heh never say it to the customer....for shore.
But thats neither here nor there.
Busting a gut here on these forums, nagging Bioware to do your bidding isn't going to get you results any faster than they are able to implement them..

i'm pretty sure that fixing this issue is top priority for both BW and M$ (and M$ should compensate all 360 users who had problems due to it)What a Twist wrote...

halfempty77 I am surprised you are not a whiner with that name!
As far as announcements go, please consider that the first announcement yesterday said something about the XBOX version of RtO been released unexpectadly and that the PC version was to follow later on, but then the second announcement spoke exclusively about pulling the RtO from XBOX because an update on the XBOX created an issue with RtO that needed to be fixed (good customer care indeed) but nothing about the PC release and it it's affected.
From that I have concluded that the PC version is fine and that all we are waiting for is the simoultaneous release of it with the XBOX version, otherwise why not say that the same issue has cropped up on the PC version too. Obviously because there is nothing wrong with it!
But Bioware are scared of Microsoft and will have to clean their pants if they were to release the PC version before the XBOX version!
It's not a conspiracy theory but an assumption based on deduction (circumstancial evidence)!

It's seemingly even worse because in this case, the people comaplaining the most vocally and aggressively will be the first ones to purchase the DLC, making their entire case invalid.
They're just complaining for attention, if they were even remotely serious about themselves or their point, they would have already decided not to support the DLC and would therefore stop caring when it is going to come out.
You only complain when you are committed to something. Otherwise, why bother? It seems to me that the majority are committed to quality gaming experiences, and many have high hopes for the promise of DLC. So why should they walk away from it just because of this one failure of a potentially powerful gaming model? The company can't tell why you didn't buy the DLC. They can't get any valid information from that. They can (and do) get much better insight from, well, complaints! And focus groups, of course.

You need to learn how to quote properly...No, my opinion is not the only one valid, you are just causing problems with people who want to vent their fustration...you are the problem, you are not the fix, not the help, the problem. And my customers are give by far more respect than I will ever give you.

Generally speaking I agree to all this as well, but I do realise that sometimes there are exceptions to the rules and so I try to stay away from starting with that preconception when I'm dealing with a customer. So as to give then the benefit of the doubt, so to speak!

I don't think it's fair to expect an hour to hour blog of internal Bioware events.
Some companies are doing are doing unscrupulous things these days, and some people expect more and more for less and less because of it, but I don't think Bioware is one of those companies, in fact I'd say they are definitely leaning to the other end of the spectrum.
Sorry for anyone that ended up with the bad content on 360, hopefully that will be fixed soon, otherwise, I don't think anyone else has much of a reason to be up in arms. I'll be sure to check back tomorrow (and the day after that if need be) to see if RtO has been released.
