The other side of it is what I've already mentioned: release dates get blown ALL THE TIME in the software entertainment industry. That's just how things work out sometimes. The people complaining about RtO's multiple delays are acting (largely) as though BioWare is somehow doing this on purpose, dangling it just above their heads then pulling it away when we go to grab it.
I think the issue here is that's exactly how it is being presented. I don't for one second think that Bioware are doing this for giggles, but conversely it's generally in every business's list of 'How not to do Customer Service' to release something, cancel a release, and then clam up with no information forthcoming. Even die-hard fans like myself get irked by treatment like that, as it simply isn't professional. I can only imagine what the highly-strung must feel like.
What makes the issue an order of magnitude worse is that given what little we've been told, it appears that the PC version is being held back purely because a 360-exclusive issue. Even under the best of circumstances, that situation is going to go down as well as a case of smallpox - in a situation where they refuse to clarify or deny what's happening, it just results in ill feelings all round.
Don't get me wrong, I have worked in the service industry too during my younger days and I personally find this kind of 'I'm a customer, I deserve to be treated like the queen of sheba' attitude to be ridiculous. But you can't really blame people for getting a bit sick when debacles like this are on show for all to see.
