No, they don't. They should however improve their plans for DLCs. Can't make it? Probably going to need to delay it? Don't set a date yet.

Then they get blasted on the forums by people who complain that they don't communicate with their clients and that they need to give more information.

They are damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Thats also a suggestion I made in another thread...because...no matter what you do people will complain.  If there's nothing to complain about, they'll find something. :P

My opinion had to do with not announcing anything during holidays...that way if employees needed their vacation time to spend with family and friends, they could do so without alot of the selfishness exploding on the forums like I have seen over these past couple of months.

"On a need to know basis"  would work well here.    Don't tell them anything til the product is done finished,  has the seal of approval from everyone that counts, then present it to the unwashed masses.

Less headaches, more glory. :P

As one of the unwashed masses I agree, and present you with this giftcard to Dillards.

Thank 'ee...I suppose I shouldn't try to spend it all in one place....oooh a whole five dollah...*wink*

I'm not sure whether or not I agree with this. Theoretically speaking, BioWare could claim that folks bought those points for any number of things. It's difficult to prove the statement "I deserve a refund because I bought points for one specific product in which I am no longer interested".

On the other hand, what recourse do people who are just plain done with the whole thing have?

Personally, I think points should be refundable (as an unopened box would be) regardless of reason if Bioware wants to encourage speculative/gift purchases. If they'd rather everyone waited to buy their points until the products on which they're to be spent are available for stable download, then a "no refunds" policy would be a good idea. Their choice will tell us what they want us to do.

Actually, I now agree with this wholeheartedly. Points should probably be refundable.

Let's be honest here - if we're accepting that 360 players have a right to complain, it's a bit silly to claim that PC players do not. If you were told that Awakening has been recalled from all platforms with no release date hours before release, because of an issue with the PC version, are you *really* saying that you'd sit with a halo around your head calmly pointing out that 360 players have no reason to complain?

Let's not start platform wars over this. It's not going to help.

What platform war? I own the PC version.

360 owners that downloaded it only to have the patch mess up their game have a right to complain. Content was released (whether intentionally or not) that affected their game negatively. These people have a legitmate gripe.

How was the game of *anyone* with the PC version affected?

If they said "Hey, were making this DLC, no idea when it will be out!"

The whining would be at a minimum. And who can blame them for taking a long time if they never said how long it would take. Its kind of hard to lose by doing this.

Exactly. This is the 2nd time theyve said "It's coming out on this date" and the second time they wait until the end of said release date to say "Oops, sorry it's actually not coming out we'll get back to you."

The best part is... on Jan 5th they specifically said they would not give a set release date again until they were 100% sure it would be released; that's just hillarious in my opinion. Image IPB

They didn't. It got leaked, most likely by Microsoft, into the XBL Marketplace and then they needed to haul arse to get the others up and running to avoid an even bigger ****storm.

It wasn't leaked; the release date was accidently interpreted as 1/14/2009 instead of 2010, so someone in that XBL Division released it asap on the 13th. >_> But even so, my main concern has been that there is no word on any bugs on the PC version, and so it's getting pulled just because the Xbox has gameplay issues.

XBL customers not only got RtO (albeit buggy, but playable from what I've read.) But they also cause a halt to the PC release to fix XBL issues that aren't on the PC version (unless they are, which I haven't read anywhere, but I could be wrong.) So we all have to wait for XBL to get it's fix for a DLC they got to already experience before we even get a chance to try it. =/

Edit: This isn't an attack attempt on XBL players. Not their fault. This is on Microsoft.

I highly doubt it, Have you visited the WoW forums when it comes to this sort of thing? People demand answers. People will bug and pester and start threads and flame wars trying to get any scrap piece of knowledge.

It really is a no-win situation. Could Bioware do better? Obviously. Is it as simple as you say? Not at all.

360 users have definite right to complain. Their games were affected by a mistake. PC users have what right to complain, exactly? That Bioware is falible? This entitles them to a discount or free content?

The brief time..several years ago, that I visited Wow forums, it was ..pardon me....A CESSPOOL.   yuck.

There was one bug, it had nothing to do with playing RTO itself. RTO was fine, I couldn't find any issues.

We aren't close to March yet, don't get your hopes up it will be out March 16...really.

I'm not, actually. I was jazzed for RtO until the 5th. That cooled me right off.

I'm half tempted to just not buy any DLC or expansions until the ZOMG Edition comes out with everything on it. I'll likely have sold the game by then, anyhow. I'll just keep my saves.

It is a great game done by a great company but customer service is a big let down...and what they have been doing is a big let down as well...

Well, at least you demanded something SPECIFIC, and from the very start.

BioWare owes us "respect", and that's all one has to say on the issue? That's really just whining.
