Let's be honest here - if we're accepting that 360 players have a right to complain, it's a bit silly to claim that PC players do not. If you were told that Awakening has been recalled from all platforms with no release date hours before release, because of an issue with the PC version, are you *really* saying that you'd sit with a halo around your head calmly pointing out that 360 players have no reason to complain?
Let's not start platform wars over this. It's not going to help.
What platform war? I own the PC version.
360 owners that downloaded it only to have the patch mess up their game have a right to complain. Content was released (whether intentionally or not) that affected their game negatively. These people have a legitmate gripe.
How was the game of *anyone* with the PC version affected?
We weren't 'affected' in the same way as the 360ers were, no. But in the same vein we were told that it was out on a date, then at last minute told no, then told again it would be out, then again, no, but this time it's implied that the reason it isn't here is because of an unrelated problem on another platform.
Call it what you will, but it doesn't exactly scream good customer service.

This would all be made hilarious if BioWare turned around and went, "You know what? You gaiz are right!" and threw out the release date for Awakenings.
People would pass bricks. D:
We aren't close to March yet, don't get your hopes up it will be out March 16...really.
I'm not, actually. I was jazzed for RtO until the 5th. That cooled me right off.
I'm half tempted to just not buy any DLC or expansions until the ZOMG Edition comes out with everything on it. I'll likely have sold the game by then, anyhow. I'll just keep my saves.
It is a great game done by a great company but customer service is a big let down...and what they have been doing is a big let down as well...
You know...I think I'm actually BEGINNING to see your point of view. I disagree about what should be done to ameliorate the situation, but it IS a bummer.
Omg o.o

There you go Mr.Eight. Better?
And a typo doesn't serve as a simpler explanation?
(Yes, I'm invoking Occam's Razor. Deal with it.)
Also, that page lists RtO as "Free". News?

I'm still looking for the XBL post saying that it was accidently released by an employee due to that typo, give me a bit.

Why can't this guys have a "quote" like this? DA thread in a Risen forum and the quote actually just englobes what the quoted poster said, not the whote "quote inside a quote inside a quote inside a quote inside a motherfraking headache!"

Well, I'd apologize for my own personal overuse, but my forum skillz aren't 1337 and I look at spreadsheets all day, so the "boxes within boxes" layout is easy for me to follow.

Was it ideal? Certainly not. Bioware made a mistake (a few of them actually) in regards to communicating with the customers. They didn't do this for fun, they rolled with the information they had at the time, which unfortunately changed as the day progressed.
Ultimately, the result is that there is a delay in the release of the DLC. It sucks, no doubt, but this is hardly a big deal.
360 users that downloaded it had their game directly affected. That is far worse than having to stomache a delay or miscommunication, wouldn't you say?

And then after 47 quotes and full page of scrolling down someone just types "lol" or something equally worth reading?

Well I'm betting they at least learn from their mistakes, might alleviate some of the white noise around here.
Note I said "might"

As a 360 gamer who got the DLC + the patch right away I would rather have it the other way, since the specialization bug prevents me from advancing my game. Most of my party is about to get to lvl 14, which means I was looking forward to specialization time...
So in that sense I'm bummed out that I got it "too fast".
It's a good excuse to start a new character though...

My all-time favorite game has always been release "When it's ready." The small developer never released it when the fans wanted it released. But it always released it when it was ready. That's all expect from anyone.

Did they give you a release date 2 times and both times pull it and not release it on those dates that they had said it would be released on?

Look folks, if I could make a poll that asked "Are you annoyed with Bioware/EA for the RtO issues and feel a token of good will would make you happy?" I would. *hint hint social.bioware webmasters*
The reason I suggested a financial incentive is that it's win-win for everyone. If I had suggested something like their customer-facing guys to stop using release dates, it provides far less benefit to Bioware/EA.
We all know this is a $5 bit of DLC. However, I'm willing to support this game for 2 years worth of DLCs + expansion + sequels IFF customer service (that means website updates, forum announcements, every way Bioware/EA reaches out to customers) takes a drastic change. How you deal with the poor customer service for this $5 of software will impact the choices I make in supporting you in the future. This may not apply to everyone, but it must apply for many, and on a larger scale, the benefits to Bioware/EA as a company are even more obvious.
This is not rocket science people, this is basic customer service and grade-school math. With 1 MILLION copies of DAO sold on 360 alone (vgchartz.com), the cost of throwing your disgruntled fans a bone will net you a few more million bucks in future DLC purchases.
I really don't get how you people are resisting this besides some personal sense of undeservedness or lack of logical thinking.

Because it's ridiculous to think that a company owes us something because they had to delay the release of a product?
Because it sets a horrible precedent that every time something adverse occurs with the game that we deserve compensation?
Because it's the pinnacle of "self-entitled" to demand something for nothing?

Have you read this entire thread? The majority of us aren't "demanding" anything other than a confirmation that this bug they found is only on the 360 version; at least for me, I haven't found anything regarding any PC issues and I'd like that confirmation. 360 has a full confirmation as to why it's pulled, while the PC and PS3 sit in the dark.
Edit: Yes yes I know this thread is based on expecting something, what I meant was that isn't what we all came here for. xD
