I dunno about their employees, but as a customer whose been loyal to them since Baldur's Gate 2, I find myself incredibly embarrassed by the way they're handling this. It's not exactly a reliable or competent face they're showing these new customers.

I know BioWare delivers good quality, but so many people are playing DA:O as their first foray into BioWare territory, and all they're seeing are empty promises and pooch-screwing.

Have you read this entire thread? The majority of us aren't "demanding" anything other than a confirmation that this bug they found is only on the 360 version; at least for me, I haven't found anything regarding any PC issues and I'd like that confirmation. 360 has a full confirmation as to why it's pulled, while the PC and PS3 sit in the dark.

Edit: Yes yes I know this thread is based on expecting something, what I meant was that isn't what we all came here for. xD

Yup, I totally get that. In this case I am specifically replying to the OP who is in fact expecting something.

These threads contain hours of entertainment. I think Bioware should delay their DLCs more often.

I'm not even kidding, I am getting WAY more enjoyment out of seeing people overreact, pull out conspiracy theories make ludicrous assumptions and demand silly things than ever could from a simple 45 minute game addon.

Kudos Bioware, and kudos to you, DA comunity!

Personally I'd just like RtO to appear in my available content panel.

Never mind, I see that it's not going to be appearing any time soon (PC) :pinched:

Agree, but becareful

Any remote resemblence to being light hearted or funny usually elicits furor of the more ardent community members.. demanding bans and i would imagine execution

My all-time favorite game has always been release "When it's ready." The small developer never released it when the fans wanted it released. But it always released it when it was ready. That's all expect from anyone.

:2cents:

Did they give you a release date 2 times and both times pull it and not release it on those dates that they had said it would be released on?

No. We got it when we got it. And sometimes we didn't know we were going to get in until right before we got it.

I personally just wish they'd give you a way of crediting you back money paid for points. It seems a bit dodgy to make you pay for points up front and then constantly back out of DLC releases. Its the reason I only buy points when I want to get something and I know it's out.

You know some of them must be true (not necessarily this one).

The reason I suggested a financial incentive is that it's win-win for everyone.

Unless of course you think about how BW won't be getting as much money for their product.

Because it's ridiculous to think that a company owes us something because they had to delay the release of a product?

No problems with delay, mishandling the delay is the issue.

Because it sets a horrible precedent that every time something adverse occurs with the game that we deserve compensation?

I disagree.  It sets a precedent that customers are at the forefront of Bioware/EA thoughts and that bad customer service will be reduced.  As others have mentioned, releasing something not up-to-snuff on XBL results in purchase refunds, or in the case of outages back in 08, a free piece of DLC.  Sure the free game was lackluster but at least it sent a message of "we're tryng to improve our service to you".

Because it's the pinnacle of "self-entitled" to demand something for nothing?

In the terms I set out in my OP, it was buy RtO and receive a discount on the next DLC.

That's hardly asking for something for free.  Bioware/EA is receiving business intel, shaping consumer approval, and raising the odds of more money coming their way. NCIX sent me a  bunch of points that I can redeem for real products because they kept me waiting for more than 1 hour for a return call.  I didn't ask for it but I was very surprised and happy to receive them and it definitely gives me an incentive to continue shopping with them.  Dell gave us a 25% corporate discount because our CSR was unprofessional and screwed up and delayed an order.  It's very common CS practice to try and make your customer (you know, those silly people that keep you in business) happy with their service quality.

All I'm asking for is simple customer service.  If you think that's the pinnacle of self-entitlement you've apparently never eaten out at restaurant. Image IPB

Your face is on the grassy knoll

OT: I can see why people are annoyed about two things, though: no console patch, or any sign of one; and secondly, the specialisation bug - however, people who are not personally suffering from the spec bug have no reason to moan about it.

You're telling me delaying this DLC hasn't cost them money already?  I'm not even talking about the marketshare they're losing on XBL where they have to compete with other content that use the same points.

At the very worst, people who have played DAO up to this point have most likely finished it.  It's a logical place to leave the game and if I were someone who was waiting for more content that was continually delayed, I may just forget about the game.  Not like there's nothing else to play.  If you could recapture that lost market share with a simple gesture, why not? (ie they lost money already, so in fact they would be getting money they weren't gonna have anyways, plus the possibility of having more in the future)

Its definitely annoying, and a bit of a head scratcher thats for sure. Personally the only way Bioware can bring back the love, is to have a communty Chili Cookoff after the release. I love Chili

Agreed, had this DLC been released on time, i would've ignored it completely and gone unentertained, but these constant delays and the resulting spam fest offer better drama than all the chans combined

Well done BioWare and community! Well done.

I'll see you all on the Mass Effect 2 delay threads ^_^
