Apart from host dependency, why do so few people use the Graal?

It's not too heavy and does a huge amount of damage to most things, especially if charged... to the point where I've accidentally OSK'ed Phantoms and then ended up standing there doing a Falcon punch on nothing (oops). As an added bonus, you can also snipe with the damned thing (useful on drone escort missions for instance).
I use it on the Krentinel, BatSol, KroLord and Talon all the time and a few other kits occasionally...

Too many other shotguns are easier to use
Weapon is easy to use:
F*cktons of damage
Weapon is hard to use:
Not as high damage as the easy weapon.

1. It is a Krogan weapon. It doesn't need to be smart, it needs to be deadly.
2. I give you that. Crusader is a tool of merciless annihilation. But heavy as hell.

There's only room for one Krogan shotgun in my armory, and that's the Claymore. If I want a light and deadly shotgun, I'll pick the Wraith over the Graal every time.GeneralMoskvin_2.0 wrote...

It's still a fun weapon to use on classes that aren't as cooldown dependent, such as the Destroyer, Krogan, Demolisher, etc.
Actually, if I remember correctly, the Demolisher is holding up a Crusader in her menu picture.

Only thing the Crusader has over the Graal is peneration. Graal can OSOK Platinum Phantoms with headshots and staggers them every time to boot.

The Claymore is NOT a Krogan shotgun; it is manufactued by aliens; the Graal IS made by Krogan.

Both are Krogan Shotguns.

It's fun to stare down and send a phantom flying across the map with one charged Graal headshot, but, it's a lot easier to stun lock her to death with a couple of Adas, Acolyte, Scorpion, Krysae, or Falcon shots and powers.

The bad thing ofc is no penetration. And off-host dependancy. And people's general unwillingness to use anything that's not as simple as a Harrier.

The Claymore description makes no sense. It is human designed. Used by Krogans because blah blah blah that we know is complete crap. The manufacturer is not stated only that it is protected by FRM and prohibitively expensive. I never got the impression that Krogans have a lot of money.

I used it for a game after reading this thread... it was ok. I didn't like only having 3 shots... and I was off-host which made it a bit more challenging/annoying than I liked. Trying to shoot a Captain who was spawning a Swarm... and having the shot only hit the swarm, was not cool... and it got me shot.
I like it best on a tanky characters because it's more possible to just walk up to mooks and shoot them in the head and survive. With a squishier character, you have to corner shoot more which can interfere with aim on a non-penetration weapon.
I use Graal on all my Krogans. They hardly run. Just walk and shoot, and FE.

If it could be used more easily off-host, I'd use it all the time. Great range, pretty good power, and one of the more reliable stagger weapons on the game.
