The claymore did make love unto the Geth Plasma shotgun, and thusly did it arise, of charged shot and lethality.

but he was plagued by a chronic disease known as latency. It could only be temporarily cured when he drank the elixir of hostedness.

He fell into an abyss of the unknown for sometime... Until a glorious entity known as the Fagnan buffed thy abilities to pop heads.

We need the AIU to fit into this - for she is the ultimate mistress of the great and noble Shotgun.

Preferably robo-pissing on a GoW Gnasher. That was a black hole unto which even Dark Lord Reegar looked pale in comparison.

I congratulate on your effort DHkany: bringing every shotgun confession in one is indeed a noble cause. The road ahead of you seems perilous, but I hope you'll find success: the shotguns are made to be pointed at the enemies, not to our brothers and sisters in faith.

"The Birth of the Crusader, Raik ancient tradition.

In the first era, when only the Katana and the Scimitar were in the primordial ether,
the two brothers fought each other in the happiness of endless battles.
Their blood made the first bullets and their shells created the stars in the sky. The suns were their mouths and the thunders their words. Their detonations separated lights and dark and all was good.

But the primordial nothingness, where the chaos of all of the other weapons were, saw the two gods, and become envious of their powers and fertility: and so he created in its spite a mockery of their image, to challenge the gods and bring destruction to them.

But when the agent of the Primal show itself in front of the Katana and the Simitar, the two gods saw something familiar in him. Not an enemy, but a relative long lost, because the workmanship of the nothingness was as twisted as was great.
And so the Katana and the Scimitar gave their love and blood to the agent of the enemy, and he was reborn in fire, shape and name.
And so the Crusader was created: his appearance was so majestic he wept, and at the apex of his happiness he disown his primordial father.
And the Crusader swore neverending covenant with the other gods and their children, declaring his woe to destroy his father, too envious and dark.

The Crusader is different and bring upon him the mark of the chaos. He shoots between darkness and light, but he has been reshaped in the shotgun love.
And for this, we honor him."

How is it?

Brought over from the Campaign of the High Lords of Boomsticks Group:

Galaxy in Focus: AT-12 Raider, the Cursed Firearm of Barad-Ur

The AT-12 Raider is acknowledged by soldiers and mercenaries around the galaxy as one of the most balanced and capable firearms extant, and the finest creation of the greatest military minds of the Batarian Hierarchy. Aficionados of the Raider, many of whom say they owe their lives to the weapon, have elevated their devotion to religious levels, shrouding the gun in myths and reverence typically devoted to deities and supernatural figures.

What is unfortunately lost in the theologically tinged discussions is the incredible, and tragic, true story of how this amazing firearm came to be. Few know of the central role the Raider played in one of the bloodiest clan wars in Batarian history, or of the obsession of the legendary Batarian gunsmith Barad-Ur, who sacrificed everything in his quest to create the ultimate shotgun. We take a closer look in tonight's episode of "Galaxy in Focus: The Cursed Firearm of Barad-Ur."

We bring you to the dawn era of Khar'shan, the harsh cradle of Batarian civilization - 500 BCE, well before the advent of spaceflight. Batarian society was in a feudal age, with most citizens on the various continents working as agriculture thralls for a handful of supremely powerful regional overlords.

The overlords were constantly locked in a struggle for power and position, their fierce battles decimating the population and ruining millions of hectares of fertile farmland, causing further famine and suffering for the majority of the Batarian population. Through these struggles, two warlord houses rose into prominence - the House of Ka'hairal on the great Eastern continent of Bailal and the House of Anto from the Western Island Clusters of Mer'aka. Having achieved complete rule over their immediate vicinity, these two houses set their baleful gaze across the ocean at the only remaining opposition to global dominion.

To be continued...?

Hmm...no takers, but I'll continue anyways - take that, BSN!! :o

The first clashes between the two powers were predictably bloody, and ultimately inconclusive.  These battles continued for several years, while the hopes of some that the two sides would settle into a tense but relatively peaceful standoff were dashed with the continuous escalation of violence and atrocities committed by both sides. Fortunately for the sons and daughters of Bataria, in 440 BCE wiser heads prevailed on both sides and arrived at a unique way to contain and ritualize the conflict - the advent of the now infamous "Deathstick Trials."

The concept was simple, and bluntly effective.  In each disputed city or territory, a small combat arena was created. Each side chose a single champion, and the champions would battle until one was too injured to continue, admitted defeat at the cost of submitting to the lifelong brand of shame of having two of his eyes blinded, or was killed in combat.  To the victor, went the spoils:  control of the territory, with the losing champion and his adherents consigned to the winners as slaves, per long Batarian custom.

The champions wielded Deathsticks, originally little more than ornately designed cudgels, but later changed into hybrid melee/projectile weapons.  With the advent of crude kinetic energy shields, the emphasis shifted from melee to close range projectile combat, with champions wielding weapons remarkably similar to what the modern galaxy knows as shotguns.  Each champion was expected to create his own weapon, so eventually it was the Gunsmiths who came to rule supreme over the Deathstick Trials.

Archeologists recently uncovered the oldest known account of the greatest Gunsmith in Batarian history, the legendary Barad-Ur.  In our next episode, you will see the first-ever historical reenactment of the story of this key figure in Batarian culture, and the tragedy which gave birth to his finest creation.
