Seriously, so far the most recent female heros, Hawke and Shepard, have stick-thin noodle arms. It's especially jarring when they are placed next to their male counterparts. The men are buff and muscled, yet the women are thin to the point of looking weak and scrawny. Kinda weird when they are supposed to be the most lethal of ass-kickers respectively.

Here we have the two Hawkes;

(Yes, they are naked so you can see the comparison better lol)

I mean really. My main Hawke was a warrior- she lugged around a sword and shield, plowing through anyone who got in her way wearing the thickest armour she could find. Being of poor muscle definition was really...weird, to say the least. It got even worse when I got to my mage one, and her arms were so noodly compared to ManHawke it was almost hilarious. I can kinda let it slide in terms of Rogues- be fast and light, but not for the Warriors who haul around heavy equipment every time they leave the house.

So Hawke being so thin, with skinny arms and thin legsis kinda weird. If she has been running around for years training with a sword/dagger/magic she should have muscle mass of some sort, not looking like she spent all her time gardning.

The most recent Bioware game ME3, has the Shepard comparisions which got even worse;

I mean really. Shepard is a freaking marine, one of the best fighters in the galaxy. Sheploo really looks like he can throw a punch, but Femshep looks like she would have trouble just keeping a pistol level. This gets even more strange (and in my case immersion breaking) if you decide to brawl James.

The utter contrast in their muscle tone is hilarious and kinda disturbing. Femshep looks pathetically weak next to James, certainly not a physcial powerhouse she's supposed to be, especially if you are a Vanguard or Soldier class, who deal with brute strength.

Also, that armour cannot be light, neither can all those guns she lugs about. And before I get "Waaah Cerberus implants" yeah no, that is not a good excuse, as she looked like scrawny ten-year-old even in ME1, it just got way more noticable as the seires progressed.

Seriously Bioware. Give me a buff lady to play in DAI. One who looks like she could kick your ass with her bare fists, not some stick-armed chick who looks like she would have trouble lifting a cardboard box, it's really weird when she is supposed to be an active fighter. It's been getting weird in your newest games, especially since you make the male PC's so buff, yet keep the female PC so skinny and almost frail looking.

I approve of this.
Mages I can understand being a bit on the scrawny side, but warriors? Really now.
Since realism seems to be so damn important to some of you guys, female warriors should look the part.

A body slider in the Character Creator could help a great deal with this. I know people who are on either end of this opinion and not everyone wants the same thing.

Not sure how easy it would be to implement and if Bioware wants to go down this route but I think this would satisfy a great many people who do have an issue.

Noodle arms for women are a Bioware staple.

I would approve of one like Dragon's Dogma, you can change anything there, including height, weight and muscle mass.

Unless you deliberately choose to go around half-naked It's a useless suggestion, just have female versions of armors scale up to make the characters look bigger.If you are a strange person who does play characters naked, well I'm pretty sure you're in the minority which invalidates your whole opinion so nyah.

I'm up for this. If it's just making muscles thicker without making the character taller or shorter, it shouldn't mess with the cinematics' camera angles either.

Dragon's Dogma did it perfectly - your character can be anything from a twig, to built like a house, and the armor pieces scale approprietly over your character's body.

Out of interest, I attempted to recreate the 'classic' BioWare female physique in Dragon's Dogma - the only way I could get her as scrawny as Hawke and Shepard was to give her the lowest possibe muscle mass available, and even then I think she was still a bit more buff.

Clearly there are still plenty who want their PC to look like a supermodel, so a slider would be the best way to please everyone.

Female Hawke's body model was a vast improvement over what Origins had to offer. For a Rogue or a mage its physically realistic. Now as a female warrior its where her arms could benefit from some definition.But thats just my opinion. Also doesn't Fenris have stick thin arms as well?. So no doubt room for improvement like all things in life. But if that body model got used again i wouldn't complain. Its the one from Origins that i would be complaining about as that one is just dreadful.

I rarely played Male Hawke and forget that he really is built like a navvy.

Even for a Rogue and mage the muscles were incredibly thin- Mage Hawke spent a lot of her time swinging around a giant staff and Rogue Hawke can backflip and leap around like a ninja. You can't do that with no muscles.

That and I do hope we get different animations then. Hawke's walk in DA2 looked so damn painful and it was like she had broken her hips when she was just standing.

I know what you mean about femshep. I was amazed in ME3 when she gave Kaidan a fireman's lift on Mars, because he's not a small guy.

I suppose the character creator (as in Dragons Dogma) would satisfy most people. But I would worry if time is spent on developing something like this, would it take away resources from elsewhere?

They need to make it looks like the character creator of the SWTOR, there you can choose the physical of your character.

That's Cara - the Mord-Sith warrior in Legend of the Seeker. Her body shape and build is perfect, imo. She looks dangerous without having "man" biceps.

In fact, I might design my Inquisitor to look like her. Dark red leather would be nice too! and the pain rods she uses (Agiels) are perfect implements of torture. yeah, I'm gonna be ruthless in DA3.

I would prefer a better Character Creator over some side-quests involving insane bloodmages/templars.

Why not both? I want all the quests I can get.

Yes, please.

And while we're at it, could we please lose the catwalk prance walk/run animation?

I don't really have a problem with the way Bioware did its female models in previous games, but I'm all for customizing your physique in the character creator if the engine allows it. I probably would make an Aveline-type character if I could.

Different body shapes are as I understand it problematic from the point of view of animations and clipping and all that. And we want something that works for all classes, not just warriors - which I often find the male bodies often don't especially well.

Could they allow more definition using differing textures without changing the actual shape?
