maybe someone's ego was too bruised to show that?

I'll admit I'm curious too, but I can certainly see why they'd rather not go there... and that it doesn't necessarily have anything to with bruised egos.

sure....but you bet if synthesis was the most popular ending we would be reminded of it often

EDI is way down at fifth in squadmate survival because of Destroy (otherwise she can only die in the low EMS beam run, which is why James is first).

Tali is below her because most people saved the Geth (then peace, then Quarians).

Kaidan is below them because most people have Ashley.

Actually the number of women gamers are almost as high as men gamers. Only when it comes to Facebook games and similar women play more.

Most women I know who play games (no matter what genre we're talking about) have no problem being a male character. The opposite is not true, a lot of dude gamers I know don't like playing a female character. Unless she have a really nice ass they can look at, but even then most don't like it. The easy answer for this is: sexism. Simple as that really.

That has to be the dumbest reason I have ever heard.

That's like saying not pursuing a same sex romance for not liking it that way, you're homophobic.

This.

I don't play femShep. I'm sexist now?

to your point, i think the absence of ending stats proves synthesis was not the most popular ending.

I would be interested to know about hours played Vs number of times you complete ending. Me personally have hundreds of hours in ME3 but only completed ending twice ( original & EC)

Possibly, but if Bioware was the type to rub people's noses in the stats of things, you'd have thought they'd have been thumping that 64% of players never meeting Wrex as evidence that ME3 DID appeal to many new gamers as a "good place to jump into the series."

It's really hard to say simply because Bioware has, as a rule, kept the numbers of things (both in their favor and not) pretty close to the vest.

I don't play femshep and I don't do straight romances. Guess I'm sexist and heterophobic.

Love the fact they didn't include anything about the endings.. Can't take any pride in the number of people who chose each option, Bioware?? Well, that is assuming you can call them options.. Oh wait, then you'd have to acknowledge the endings.. and maybe, just maybe, the percentage of people who disliked them?

Hold the Line.. For life..

re: Ending choice

The most likely answer is that BW doesn't actually want to canonize in the minds of fans what the choice was...

re: Rannoch
Not sure I'd agree that BW was pushing the geth choice since quite frankly, the geth VI comes across as not trustworthy AT ALL. I'd fully expect the geth with no Legion to jump back into bed with the reapers if they got a better deal given the attitude of that geth VI.

Shala Raan is a lot more sympathetic when you talk with her about the morning war....

uhhh... ok.

Sorry I must have misread, thought you said you played it. Anyways.

Samus Aran!, Paragon of females... well until Female Shepard came along. No priviledges no exceptions. Both are awesome as they shove their boot or omnitool in an enemie's face.

And their missile Launchers ;).

No problem on the post. Maybe it was me. Sorry

And this is where your hatred of bioware has warped your thinking. You're automatically assuming that every stat shown is bioware trying to "rub your face in the mud" when it nothing like that.

1. 64% not meeting Wrex doesn't MEAN anything since a) you could SHOOT wrex in ME1 and the default in ME2 was a dead Wrex....thus that 64% incorporates both ME1 fans and ME2 fans...

2. This is the EXACT same breakdown of male shep to femshep as ME2 (and I'd be stunned if this was any different in ME1 - 9 years ago in fact, it should be even MORE lopsided). All this shows is that over the years, the popularity of maleshep to femshep hasn't changed.

One in five missed the FemShep experience!  :(

Actually thats still a decent number for a male dominated audience. Plus its more copies for ME3 so she has seen a wider audience as the trilogy has progressed.  Im sure that figure will continue to rise over time

The Wrex figure I found surprising.  He has such a big role!  For so many people to have missed out :( Does say something about the amount of copies sold after ME1 though!!

I dont know why people cant understand the Wrex stat...iirc, the ONLY way you could possibly meet Wrex is if you 1.Imported an ME1 save all the way to ME3, and 2.he survived Virmire

I am still waiting for those spreadsheets too

I mostly play female engineers so guess I'm in the small group of players =)

Can understand guys wanting to play BroShep. I only play FemShep because so far I've just not clicked with a male character. Have played games as a male but if I have the possibility of playing a female I will take it. Which means I have missed out on BroShep, and all the content that is specific to him. Perhaps there are guys out there who feel the same way. Those who play both FemShep and BroShep gets to see more of what the game has to offer, I envy them a bit.

Currently ME is on the backburner, finished the latest FemShep less than a month ago and I do not wish to burn my self out by playing the same thing too often. Fiddling about with TombRaider and SWTOR at the moment. However a FemShep is started in ME2 with Ash saved, the first time for me since I like Kaidan so much. Think I will give BroShep another try after that PT is done. Would like to know that I have seen both sides of the story. Hope that some the players who only have seen BroShep will give FemShep a try, have had so much fun over the years traveling with her that I just want to share that experience with others.

I'm not surprised that only 18% played FemShep. Everyone I've met outside the internet have referred to Shepard as a "he".

In response to the sexism of not playing female characters. I don't think they meant that if you didn't play as FemShep, you automatically qualify as sexist. I think the underlying reason is it's just that usually many guys who don't choose to play as females because, based on from what I've seen, either they don't take female characters as seriously, not pretty enough, or just plain don't have any interest. The first one would truly qualify as sexism and the second reason would be questionable (I guess depending on the circumstances). I'm not saying that every person who plays as MaleShep or only male characters is sexist. Some people just prefer to play as male characters. But it's a possible reasoning behind it that could make the person sexist.

Sometimes one will only play as their gender because they want to relate to that character more. I believe that's why most guys play as MaleShep. I like playing FemShep more, but that makes sense because I relate to her better.

Theres a big difference between not understanding it and being surprised by it.

Im sure most understand why he doesn't appear in ME2 or ME3.  But the figure itself can still be surprising as you want people to see such a pivotal and great character.

How does the 64% not meeting Wrex play up Bioware's previous statement? That 64% doesn't mean that 64% of fans were NEW players which you seem to imply since not meeting Wrex IS NOT DEPENDENT ON BEING NEW TO ME3
