Honestly, I rather new companions, and former companions appear again as NPC or so. Anyhow, I would say, Morrigan and Alistair are the ones I want to have in my team the most. They are strong, well written, and their banters are just priceless =)) I want Wynne too Missed her She was like a mother figure to my Warden.

Out of npcs- Shianni (from Denerim Alienage), Lanaya (Zathrian's first) are 2 that come to mind...both for LIs too

None. I want this to be a different story in the same world. The previous games should only be mentioned in passing and maybe how the actions taken in previous games lead up to the current mess.

After all if they do bring back a character, they'll change him/her so that what we use to like about them so much in the previous game will be gone in the current game. ie Anders.

IF THESE PEOPLE ARE IN DA3 AT ALL I WILL HAVE AN ORGASM. ESPECIALLY AS COMPANIONS.

They shouldn't have anyone else from the videogames that were former companions, return. If they're gonna have anybody come back that was in the videogames that we've seen as NPC's and not companions, I see it being Cullen and Cassandra. They should leave it at that though. No former companions. It's a new game, let's have some new people up in hur.

I personally adore Anders / FemHawke from DA2 but considering how many people want to kill him I'd agree to leave him and Hawke "disappeared".

Well the thing about Bioware is I love all their characters in some way. Still though I'd most want to see Morrigan and how she grows. Also I'd like to see the sex appeal of Isabela make a return.

One of the few things I liked about DA2, no returning main characters as main characters. Peripheral characters like Merril and Isabela returned and thats fine. All I want returning as companions are minor secondaries.

Under no circumstances do I want old companions back as new ones. Give them a minor role somewhere in the story if you want but their stories are over so give us new companions instead.

I'm terrified they're going to take my favorite characters, bring them back and utterly destroy their character/personalities. Which is partially why I'm going to wait a month or two before buying DA3. In case the above scenario does happen I'll ignore it. DAO will have been a great standalone game and dragon age 2 will have been.... a game. Time to move on to other games in that case.

I would really like to see Aveline return.
She was perhaps the only character in 2 (other than Varric) who was well rounded, had an interesting story and was very likeable. Would I want her as a companion again? Probably not.

I would like a whole new cast of characters and some appearances of old characters.

Nevertheless, I would like to see Flemeth one last time.

I'm not familiar with the books, but I believe one of them has Wynne's son, Rhys is it? I'm unsure of his fate, but perhaps a character such as him who is related or connected to a previous character might be interesting? Perhaps another daughter of Flemeth who learned of her plan and escaped before Morrigan was born? Perhaps she could one who hides her magic and goes more by melee combat? Or even a son of Flemeth who fled to Orlais?

Generally speaking I don't want former companions returning. I loved Alistair and Zevran, for a while I was enamored of Fenris but the chip on his shoulder finally got too annoying. I just get the feeling that their stories are tied with the games they were in. Kind of like how I feel the Warden's and Hawke's stories are done. Sure, there are some repercussions and if cameos are well done, maybe.

The exception to that might be Morrigan, she is surely different by now and yet the same in many respects.

Overall I want new companions to go with my new pc. However, as I was saying to my boys just this morning, wouldn't the banter be great if Shale and Varric were in your party? To my mind that just might be the most awesome combination in Thedas.
