Hmm... I decided to elaborate.
It makes sense not to let this drift into a place where people are feeling like their hackles are up. I know I had mine up, earlier, and that paints posts in a bad light. A light they don't necessarily deserve. I jumped at the phrasing, and I'll back off from that, and just say what I mean to say, instead of being obnoxious (which I will admit I was being.)
If it bothers anyone that I do this, I can live with it:
I conserve rockets compulsively. I don't think it makes me a bad player. It lowers my score, considerably, and it adds time to my games, but it improves the odds of extraction. I have them ready if I have to solo, because I cannot solo Gold yet, and clutching is a questionable proposition without rockets, for me. If I have to clutch several times, I will need all those rockets.
I also compulsively rocket enemies when they go to synch kill my teammates. Even if it usually only comes up once in a game, I conserve them just in case. I'd rather use them preserving all 4 players in emergencies than speeding up the game.
I am not such a good player that I can afford to use 6 rockets every game. I started a game today with 4 of my potential 6 rockets. And I used them all. After that game I literally had 0. I don't have a maxed manifest, and I tend to be critically short of rockets and Ops Packs. (Medigel, too, even, these days.)
I speak only for myself, but there are a handful of other players who are better than I am, who also tend to have most of their rockets at the end of the game. We may be the minority, but we see them as an item to be used in emergencies.
And sometimes, emergencies happen during extraction. In fact, because your credit total now includes that Wave, players who don't have maxed manifests have a very legitimite reason to conserve rockets for extraction. Clearing a path is occasionally necessary for some players.
And every now and then, when I have lots of rockets to spare, and I didn't need any before extraction, I'll go on a rampage. Just for fun, and not because I give a crap about whether I top the scoreboard. And it doesn't hurt anyone when I do that.
Which is way off topic, but I didn't want there to be any misunderstandings. Especially with someone whose efforts I admired during Lodestar.
(I have no opinion on the thread's topic, to be honest. I don't know enough about the Krolord or the players involved, and I'm on Xbox, anyway.)
