So far every companion has been either bi or straight.Maybe gay,but not openly.Would you like to see sexual differences in your party, since we know that every LI is BI,why can't we have straight,bi and gay non-romancable companions.

Every time I read something like this I try to imagine what openly straight would look like and it doesn't make any sense. Straight people don't base their identities around their sexual preferences.

Varric was openly straight(he said he had a girl before Bianca)
Aveliene was openly straight(Donnic and Weasly)
Oghren was openly straight(Branka)

Why is there a romance thread on the BSN DAI forum?

I'm openly straight so I just run around telling everyone I'm straight cause being straight defines me as a person and makes up my total personality. lol!

But really, you can already do that. Call Anders or Fenris gay if you like and just don't romance them. Easy Peasy.

Inconclusive evidence.

Aveliene was openly straight(Donnic and Weasly)

Inconclusive evidence

Oghren was openly straight(Branka)

Inconclusive evidence.

I suppose if Branka hadn't had a girlfriend when the Warden met her, you probably would have insisted that she is straight, too.

I remember a time when fans of Bioware RPGs weren't mostly focused on features having to do with sex, romance and cameltoe DLC gear.

I don't really think that a non-romanceable gay companion is more important to have than a romanceable gay companion, but I would like to see more LGBT companions in general.

What's the problem with fans caring about romance?

I think the base of the request here is that when a party member has a relationship outside of the main character, it has always been straight. e.g. Aveline and her two husbands, Fenris and Isabela, Carver flirting with Merrill, Sebastian flirting with Bethany... you get the picture. DA:O had less of this, but in the Darkspawn Chronicles, Alistair and Leliana get together.

I think what the OP wants is to, if DA:I continues to play Pair the Spares, one (or more) of those spares be interested in someone of the same sex. Which isn't unreasonable to ask!  It's not about a character who runs around yelling "I'M GAY AND I'M PROUD," it's about a companion who shows same sex interest outside of the PC.

We don't need contrived appeasements. There should be no "minimum" number of straight, bi, or gay characters. Just make personalities, make characters think and feel the way they want. Bioware shouldn't feel a need to make a certain number of sexually-oriented characters.

This would be interesting though. Even though Anders hits on a female Champion, his dialogue with Sebastian gives me this really overarching "he's gay" feeling.

This, while of course interesting, might not really matter. What is the difference between a non-romance character who is gay and one that is not? Unless their sexuality plays some role in the story or their character development, then why even bother specifying or even mentioning it?

Why bother giving Aveline a husband?  Two of them, in fact?  Why bother hook up Fenris and Isabela?  Why bother have Sebastian flirt with Bethany?  Why bother have Carver flirt with Merrill?  :?

Shall we go 'round the "Wade and Herren are gay", "You can't prove that" merry-go-round again?

For the record, I fall on the "yes, they are" side.

I'd argue that for Aveline, that was an important of her character development.  For the others, it was more just for good fun.  Would it have made a difference if instead of Carver flirting with Merrill, it had been Bethany?
