What is the real reason people play on X-box as opposed to PC?

personally, I've had the x-box since the original, so I suppose a little "system loyalty" is behind it for some. Also, my friends are on the 360, and they really help to make the games more entertaining.

No doubt a gaming PC will always give better results, but I really can't shell out $400-$500 for all the parts to put a fairly decent PC together at the moment. I suppose even if I did, I'd still stick with x-box if my friends are there.

Regardless, I still enjoy the game.

trackball would be fun, but no on the keyboard.

Stardusk, a decent gaming rig costs a lot of money . Not to mention a really good one

Here is how PC & Consoles compare:-

Having a top of the line PC is like having a Rolls Royce of a Ferrari. It is expensive as hell & has some upkeep costs but it is rather exclusive since not many people buy it. Additionally, like those cars a PC is highly customizable & it also gives you the ability to experience driving at a high level in the same way a good PC setup can offer the highest gaming experience

On the other hand, consoles are like normal cars on the road. Cheap to buy, way cheaper to maintain than a PC but not as good as a PC can be and not as customizable..

There is a reason PC = master race & console = peasants.

Some people prefer the feel of a controller, or like to be more comfortable when playing. Although a lot of games support controllers these days, some games (ME3 for example) require a third party application. Also, there are no specs or drivers to worry about.

I prefer PC myself, but I can see why people would prefer to play on consoles, for the most part.

I know nothing of consoles but I heard it is the price. A decent computer is not that expensive, so that can't be the primary reason. Given that most people these days have a computer why would anyone play on X-box?

It is my primary reason. An Xbox game has to work on the xbox, fools got no choice but to make sure it does. Computer games in my experiance can be a real bear to run unless you are willing to continuesly upgrade your computer and thats EXPENSIVE as opposed to the one time price of the Xbox or PS3. It's the only reason I didn't buy the Star War's MMO, I don't trust my laptop to be able to run it properly.

The money thing...Here in brazil a good computer can be very expensive, but in american you can buy a decent hardware, that will leave consoles in the dust, cheap. It almost makes me want to cry when I compare the prices.

For me it was mostly because I grew up on controllers. Only thing I really even play on PC is Doom really. Also, a lot of my friends have consoles and a lot of franchises I like are on consoles.

No, PS 3. I felt they were relevant. I chose to answer in a way that called attention to certain franchises releasing games that are exclusive to certain platforms.

I could have used a lot of answers, that just seemed like an obvious way to go.

Mainly because I just got a computer good enough to run the game. I'm not going to restart my manifest just to play on the PC.

If they made it so you could have the same profile across platforms so you didn't have to restart every time you switched, I'd buy it for the PC.

I like to sit on my couch with a nice beverage, and look at my huge TV and stare at my fishtank while the game loads...plus all PC players are hacker cheatorz :)

Not entirely true - if mainenance is buying the games then they're about £15 cheaper on the PC than on consoles - and that's not including crazy Steam sales. If I owned as many games on the PS3 as I do on the PC... the PS3 would actually work out more expensive... and that's before I factor in some £400 worth of steering wheel, pedals and racing chair I bought just for GT5.

Some games, like GT5, are just better with all the gadgets, the big TV and the home theatre system - i.e. they're better on consoles; the same can be said for "beer 'n' pizza games" where you can get 2, 3 or 4 people knocking back some beers, eating pizza and murderising each other horribly on Mega Bomberman.

For FPS games (well, most shooters in fact), sims, MMOs and strategy games - it's gotta be the PC as far as I'm concerned though.

I like having the satisfaction of knowing I can play on console and, if I had to, PC, whereas PC "Master Race" players are (generally) completely incompetent around a console. Playing on PC might change that.

Also, Origin sucks. Yeah, it also applies to consoles, but Origin doesn't need to update us three times a minute, so we can actually pretty much play as much as we want.

I have and use them all. Well except a WiiU. I have friends on all platforms but when it comes to multi platform games I will always buy PC. For one thing it's way cheaper that way and for another thing KBMOD.

Also the indie games on Steam are actually good games, unlike the heaps and heaps of garbage on XBL. Seriously those games are some of the worst games I've ever seen in my life.

I Haven't upgraded my computer in almost 3 years now (still running an ati 5850 fyi) and there literally hasn't been a game that has come out that cannot be played with at LEAST 30 fps with above console graphics.  Constant upgrading is unnecessary and only for those who HAVE to have the best.

are you not a fan of the 3 dozen Minecraft ripoffs currently available on Xbox?

do they not entertain you?
