What is the real reason people play on X-box as opposed to PC?

I prefer to sit on my sofa, playing on my 50" TV, on my 150 quid XBox. My PC is for work.

PC is for internet porn not vidya games.

Hey - it's a PC you don't have to choose; get 2 monitors and you can even do both at once*

*this may affect your gameplay performance though.

Good point but I'm cheap and monitors aren't...good ones at least.

I'm a former PC gamer...

1. reason - Now my computer is dedicated for work only... so by playing on xbox the gaming is in no way associated with pc ergo this means less distraction.
2. reason - Since 2011 I'm on Mac...

I have a console to play the Mortal Combat series :)
FPS gaming on a console is terrible though... I am pretty sure that trying to play some of the classic FPS games like UT, Q3A or Doom3 with a controller would result in an epic fail... This spray&pray stuff can be played easily though and it will stay as no one will produce a FPS that is exclusively designed for PC which is very sad... These games were much better

Unreal Tournament 3 was released on consoles... The console versions are horrendous.

It's not even funny how pathetic the game is on console compared to on PC. The game speed is noticeably slower, there's no twitch shots, no strafing, no mortaring, no leading, no trick movement,  ridiculous levels of auto-aim (I'm talking COD esque auto-aim, where the bullets fire at the target, not at the crosshair)...

Epic proved with UT3 that twitchy shooters will NEVER make it on consoles... they just don't live up to their PC counterparts.

I hope if Epic ever make a UT4, they do the sensible thing and make it a PC exclusive.

But CoD is super awesome and it's even in the MLG circuit so you know it's good. :P

COD lost all credibility when they implemented auto aim which basically means you can shoot "near" a target enough, and your bullets begin automatically tracking towards them, hitting and killing them with 0 player input involved.

Pathetic.

Shooters should require aim, and should not include Call Of Duty bullet tracking...

I haven't played the PC version of any COD game, so I don't know if its any better, but the console version was just mind numbingly easy.

I bought an Xbox for Gears of War and Mass Effect. Turns out both were also released for PC, though I couldn't afford a decent PC back then. I was also a lot younger, so ignorance comes into it I guess.

I don't see the point in moving up to PC just yet.
By next gen consoles? Sure, or at least hopefully. Money is tight. Don't have the luxury right now.

I borrowed the first two games from a friend while visiting my boyfriend's so my save games for import in SP were for xbox. I'm generally a PC gamer. But the boyfriend has the 360 so here we are. I honestly don't know if I could readjust to the controls for PC at this point. I've always had a problem with my muscle memory being really slow to catch on to new games.

I'd like to get the third game at least for PC and try MP there, though. Just no room in my apartment for my PC until my roommate finally moves out and my BF's PC won't run the game smoothly enough for my taste based on system specs.  Actually I'd like to repurchase the whole trilogy for PC so that I can turn off the annoying must be connected to the internet to play DLC thing (which is totally possible on PC if you know where to research it). I just can't justify spending that much money (rebuying all DLC etc.) so if I do it it will likely only be 3 for the MP.  I do hope that that next mass effect game doesn't actually use an import form the trilogy; I think I'd like to go back to PC with that one.

Because I don't like dealing with "GAMEYOUWEREJUSTPLAYING.exe has stopped working."

That annoys me to no end.

It always seems to happen to RA on the PC but on the PS2 it works smoothly, with no loss in my gameplay performance.

As many have said:
already have an Xbox, whereas I don't have a gaming PC
I prefer contollers to mouse/keyboard
Most of my friends are on Xbox
and I prefer sitting on a sofa to a chair

I play on all three. But I think its because its faster to pick up a Ps3 Or Xbox as opposed to a PC. A PC can also Breakdown faster then a console. In my experience anyway.
*edit*
Over the course of when I got PS3, then Xbox. I switched trough 3 PC's.
Im still using Gen 1 Consoles. with no problems. Just dead Controllers.

Cost can easily be the primary reason.

A decent PC costs a fair bit more than a console.

Most of my RL friends play on the X-box so it made the decision pretty easy.

For me it has nothing to do with price, I spend lots of money on computer hardware each year for work purposes. It is more that I would genuinely rather play on Xbox. I prefer to play on the couch in front of the tv. I spend too much time working on the computer, I'd rather not play on it too.

You can just as easy hook up your pc to your tv, plug in a controller and enjoy the same comfort level with most games, only it would not work with me 3 becouse it requires a mouse and keyboard.
A pc might cost more then a console but the games are generaly a lot cheaper (at least where i come from  (the Netherlands)).
The reason i game on consoles as well as pc are the exclusive titles, like the last of us or red dead redemption.
Even mass effect used to be an xbox exclusive.

When I got into the series, I didn't have a computer capable of running ME1 all that well, so I got it for the xbox.  Later, I got a better computer.  But with all of my saves firmly entrenched on the xbox, I decided to stick with it.

Two of my good friends have it (ME3) for the xbox as well, so that's another reason.

Pc's that can handle games properly cost alot more than a console does. Games on pc are always evolving for the fastest speeds. Your pc becomes obsolete for games faster than a console does. I also like playing on a big screen tv while lounging on the couch not stuck on a chair in front of the tiny computer screen.

Ehhh, no. My PC right now will be better than the supposed "next gen" of consoles coming along. So technically, compared to my setup, your "future" console is already obsolete....
