Why would anyone let Garrus win the shooting contest?

But not with my infiltrator, soldier and vanguard. Yes my vanguard is very much snipy.
And I dont let guy win just because I´m sleeping with him. This is pure skill, Garrus.

I don't know about you guys, but when I think of the right way to treat a friend, patronizing behavior and dishonesty are nowhere near the top of MY list.
Please. Its just as dishonest to 'win' as to lose, because its never an actual contest. Garrus can never win or lose based on actual skill. Garrus should beat the pants off my male shep who spent three games never using a sniper rifle and fighting at melee range.
And Garrus, if he's at all a good friend to you, knows this too. So if I 'win' its just as likely Garrus saw that I really wanted it and gave me an easy toss. Or he wins because he purposely picked something he wouldnt lose at. Easilly works both ways.
But it was never really about the contest. Or about Honesty. It was about two friends sharing a bonding moment before the end of the world.

Well, maybe you are just better than him in shooting so there is no challenge. Just like he is better than you as a tracker, saboteur etc.
If I challenge an archery expert and I practiced archery it aint no competition he is going to win.
Regardless I like the idea of some guy said before I find it PERFECT. Flip a coin and depending on that is unbias and fair. LOVED that idea and from now on that is how I will solve "competition" problems in games.
THANK YOU UNAMED guy... can't find the last quote I found that at. Think it was on this thread though.

Now, I'm not saying saying that letting Garrus win makes you bad person...
Actually, wait, that IS what I am saying.
Edit: If you missed because you were actually roll playing and your Shepard simply wasn't as good as Garrus, that makes sense.
To be perfectly honest, you kinda sound like an awful friend. And probbaly 100% wining oriented.
Which is not what that "contest" was for me. Not at all.
My friends love me. You know why? Cause I F***ing RESPECT them.

It's a simple moral choice and it's nothing more than that. Do I win and prove I'm better, or do I let my friend have fun and feel good?
Why do you think winning and your friend having fun are mutually exclusive?

Have you seen what's left of his face? Not only do I let him win, nearly every time, but I give him crap about that too. It's no fun to beat him, it's more fun to let him win, and point out that we're going to have to have him ready for the bottle revolt.moater boat wrote...

Or if I got bored with the 'bottle revolt' line, I just simply chose the other option. Either choice I take, they both seemed to have a good time and that's what's important.

I don't, though...
I prefer assault rifles, heavy pistols and powers...
Even if you are a sniper, you weren't prepared for a contest and are using Garrus's rifle...
And you only have to miss once with someone else's gun...
Which puts Garrus at a distinct advantage...

And he didn't lose the contest, either. It was just a tie.
I beat the hell out of James Vega in our sparring match, though, and I do feel a little badly about that ...
