I did my Platinum solo with a Phoenix Adept using a Striker and a few minor Coalesced.bin edits (pretty sure it's not much more than FOV fixes). It's pretty amazing, let's go through my incredible achievement step-by-step.
1. THE BUILD.
I chose the Phoenix Adept. I like this kit very much and as I recall it he was 'missing' from Annomanders Hall Of Fame. I chose FBW, but I don't think the 'rules' applied to PA.
The build is a pretty standard 9/9/9/9/9, which means all evolutions on all powers & passives/fitness. It's a minor coalesced.bin edit, paired with the standard 6/6/6/6/6 'glitch' (lol, if it's in the game it's intended)
9/9/9/9/9 builds are very useful. This way I don't sacrifice anything and have a very versatile character. It's especially awesome with Fitness, where I can go melee AND shields/health both. As you can see, I added some health and shields as well in coalesced, the PA is very squishy as opposed to, let's say, Juggernaut, so I think it's ok.
2. THE WEAPON
I'm sure that many of you consider the Striker a bad weapon. LOL, plat solo with a Striker? Impossibru. But today the kind Volus Sultan Kwunu blessed me with finding two crucial coalesced.bin lines that allowed me to pump up this weapon a bit.
This is my Striker after the 2 edits that allowed me to put some extra mods on it.
The lil' changes I made turn Striker into a bearable weapon on Plat. On top of the mods you can see, I added several SMG ULMs, so my cooldown was still at 300%. I also made it hit-scan so it scores headshots and has piercing. The scope is just for stablility bonus, don't scope, lol.
3. THE GEAR
As you can see, there are some hidden gears that BioWare included in the game files but didn't release 'officially' I squeed in glee when I learned that the Spectre Package armor mod synergises perfectly with my playstyle. I like to play aggresively, you know. And as a true Biotic God, is there a better ammo choice than Biotic Explosion Ammo? I think not. The Geth Aimbot weapon gear comes in handy if you modified your Striker to score headshots.
As you can see I have a Cobra instead of declared Katana, perhaps BioWare didn't include all the strings in the game.
4. THE ENEMY
Now the true pearl. When you add in any of coalesced values the line "ReapersMerge" you fight a modified Reaper faction, made of just a single unit (which kinda looks like the other units merged, paired with an Elcor Head. It has a whole new healthbar, I think I may need peddro to determine all the values, damage reductions etc.
The fact you fight tougher but fewer enemies contributes to the fantastic time I got. I was playing at 10 FPH. The fantastic thing about it is that you basically need to play through a couple of frames and the rest of the round "plays itself in the background". Probably that's the reason I didn't extract, still, my solo should qualify to the Late Hall Of Fame.
