DAO was "story-focused". Bull****. It was so boring i quit in fade tried to return and quit again. Leave story to PT. That was a story. I quit it too lol. DA2 i played through 3 times and now go for fourth and fifth simultaneously. Yes, DAO had better spirit, especially in origins themselves. But DA2 had the great souls too - disgusting gay Anders, luscious b1tch Raveni, deceitful b1tch Merrill... Lesser, but great. Like, great as in "great, this again..." not "Great Britain". 

But i digress. What DA2 had certainly improved upon is combat. Instead of jumble mess skills of DAO we got neat-looking graphs of DA2. Constant reusage of locations doesn't matter because the satisfaction of varric flasking rogue hawke or Bethany nuking herself with firestorm is far more great than that of DAO. DAO was peasy. Nightmare lol. While in DA2 you really can stuck. Like in deep roads with suboptimal team comp. Encounters in DA2 are far more organised - the reaver, assassin, raiders and some archers plus the Leech work cohesively as unit as opposed to the mob of ****locks of DAO. Isabela lol. I had to kick her out of her own questline due to impossibility to fit. In DA2 there are no bull**** skills, all are of certain use in certain situations. Some are good for mass suicide, for example, like walking bomb w/o spiritresist runes on melees. BOOM. No cheesy heal spam - if want to heal, be good and take nurf to combat spells.

The story? I love the story of DA2. It purely consists of the directions to meet new people and slaughter them. The massacre of whole dalish clan. You cannot pwn commoners in darktown because its a waste of time.
    And funny tests like quest with Kelder. To spare crazy pedophile while i murdered devouted brave pure-heart templars to pay gay abomination Anders for the map? ROFLoLLL. And this Red Iron quest responce "I dont kill for money" mwahaha i lol'd so hard it made my day. I like three-answers system better too. Instead of one normal and two to seven incredibly stupid like in DAO we have 3 variants of same answer: "Yes! Slay them all!" "Haha. Ofcource i will kill them. Lol." and "Can we talk about this? No?" No bull**** and 3 flavours to choose. Infact, the DA2 got step closer to the LoL itself, the megalous game that have story too. Its bull**** wholly and no one reads it evar except for feeding hamsters of the internetz. Those gays who make felt Temmo idols for unholy and heretic worshipp. Whoops, i insulted gays.

But i digress again. The DA3 Inquisition should be the pinnacle of DA evolution. No bull**** story with option to slaughter both mages, templars, bandits and the Inquisition both. And Anders. Yes, again. At least ten encounters in each location, all different, with more internal interaction and supporting roles - not only health pots, but also dedicated healers and buffers to the mobs. More synergistic trees. A huge helth nurf again - the Riot Games mutilated healer class to nonexistence, annuling them to overtime regeneration and tactic micro-heals. More summons like GhostDog perhaps?.. Uncertain on this one. Let BloodMage raise horde of ghouls like true bloodsucker can! Moar BloodMages! (which are NOT a vampires. See Vlad from Magicka on that) No, really. Kill some bandits, raise them and go to Chantry to complete quest. Or into Gallows, that works too. Like Alucard, he's a vampire? so what, he's domesticated!

And for the classes, what we have? Tank, melee bruiser, ap carry, ad carry, stealth assassin, support healer... what is missing? True, a jungler! The requirements of this class are: a) self-heal B) good consistent damage c) escapemobility. So far in DA2 such a class cannot be constructed. Reaver lacks escapes, duelist self-heals, cant think of any else (too lazy). And make mobs use same skills as players do! Because farming creeps is boaring, make us some bots! And add drop-in feature like in Total War so someone can control the mobs in the encounter that'll be fun. Ure no Korean grindfest, ure better Bioware!

nah it was a step back in a lot of ways due in part to EA not allowing Bioware adquate time to do the game properly and also in part to what seem like a deliberate effort to shift from a traditional rpg format to an action rpg format with more combat dumbing down or removing the rpg elements.

I felt the same way about Dragon Age II. Having a linear storyline and little control over the protagonist's personality and views (especially in comparison to The Warden), as well as dealing with one-dimensional antagonists, didn't make for an interesting game.
