I think Destiny Ascension is most powerful warship we have on our side. It is huge and powerful and looks awesome. I think it is best looking ship in the series. But Sovereign class reapers are also very formidable. So which ship is stronger and more powerful? Which one will win in a fight? Poll here too.

I believe Sovereign is still more powerful one on one.

And we WOULD have had another super dreadnought in the Geth flagship if that ****** Quarian Gerrel hadn't blasted it to atoms. I always gave that idiot a solid punch to the gut and threw him off my ship for that.

In ME1 Sovereign didn't care about the DA or anything else because once the relay was open he would have thousands of friends there to kill anything left within seconds. More reapers than we saw around earth, they would all be there.

Civilians were in the line of fire and if I recall he disobeyed Admiral Raan's order to withdraw to which she threatened him with treason. 

A soldier who can't follow orders is a liability, Gerrel was a loose cannon and the other Quarian admirals knew it.  Given the choice I'd call up a pair of Marines and have him "escorted" to the airlock and from there he can float back to his ship.

Raan is not Garrel's superior. He's not disobeying orders at all. And civilians are going to be in the line of fire later on too, and it might be nice if they had one less dreadnought shooting at them, wouldn't it?

If the geth turned out to be bad guys and Gerrel had waited for Shepard to get out, we would be praising him for what he did as the obvious course of action. Thing is, Garrel didn't have much reason to think the geth weren't bad guys.

The Destiny Ascension is the strongest ship we have on our side, but Sovereign-class Reapers are the strongest ships full stop. The Thannix cannon is a miniaturised version of the Reaper gun, so theirs are stronger, plus the codex says they have greater range. Also their shields, except for a few key moments of vulnerability (when they are taking off or landing, or making sudden turns) are stronger than any others. So Sovereign-class beats any other ship one on one.

I think with how big the Destiny Ascension is, it may have a good chance if it do hit and run attacks since it's shields is very strong. Also, Destiny Ascension is a lot bigger than regular dreadnoughts so it should have a good chance.

They shouldn't be there in the first place, the whole "let's go to war with the Geth" idea was stupid from the start.

I looked at that Dread as a valuable potential asset if I could get the Geth on board with the war effort but Gerrel wanted his big win of the day and kept pushing despite being ordered to stand down.

Well the Geth weren't the bad guys were they?  If the Quarians hadn't been the aggressor once again the Geth wouldn't have decided that slavery was preferrable to extinction and sided with the Reapers.

I mean I like the Quarians...but my god they have abysmal timing.

Post-retcon i think the Destiny Ascension would win, one on one.

Plus she got swarmed close-range by lots of small fast units during ME1's final battle. That's exactly her vulnerability, and that's what made her look underpowered, imho.

When the quarians attacked the geth, it wasn't a war. The quarians had Xen's weapon which basically made the geth helpless. They were curb-stomping them. It wasn't until the geth got help from the Reapers that the quarians started taking casualties. So the idea that they 'decided to go to war' is completely untrue.

If we hadn't met Legion in ME 2 and the quarians had developed a weapon to fight the geth but decided not to use it, everyone would be claiming the quarians are stupid for doing exactly what they claim is obvious now. The geth were a known tool of the Reapers. If they were 'bad,' it would make more sense to take them out as the Reapers invaded, not less. It would make more sense to hit them before the Reapers could get ahold of them.

Thing is, the quarians didn't meet Legion in ME 2. Only Shepard did. All they really have is heresay information.

Destiny Ascension would probably get decimated too, Reapers are all round a better for combat than anything we have, might put u a good fight, but I doubt it'd win one on one.

The reaper. Easily. There is no ship or ships, for that matter. And when I say ships I'm saying like 5 to 10, that could take out a sovereign class reaper. they are boss.

Reaper vs Destiny, Reaper wins no contest.

Against a Destroyer however, the DA may be able to one-shot it providing it kept it at an arms length.

I think that were the Geth ships. Like somebody mentioned, getting swarmed by these is pretty dangerous.

We have the codex entry that says that a Sovereign-class reaper can be destroyed by sustained fire by 4 dreadnaughts. The DA surely has more firepower than other dreadnaughts, but I'm not sure it has as much as 4. And it might not get the time for sustained fire, as it probably would get taken down faster than 4 separate dreadnaughts.

Maybe Legion shouldn't have disabled the ships barriers. You'd think a super-intelligent, intelligence would realise that the Quarians would realise the barriers are down and would try to destroy the ship.

I can understand why Gerrel wanted to destroy the ship (I still kick him off my ship, nonetheless), but Legion disabling the Barriers makes no sense.

Anyway, on-topic, I believe a Sovereign-class would destroy the Destiny Ascension hands down. The Destiny Ascension is strong, no doubt about it, but we're talking about a Reaper here.
