Beating someone to a pulp is always disgraceful. Firstly, it means going too far and excessively damaging or killing the other, secondly, if you'd been in a situation where it's encouraged, and/or have at some point in the past started to do so you'd know the feeling really really sucks and that this frenzy degrades a person in every possible way.
